IRC2880i White lines on black prints before & after replacing black drum

    Hi all,

Both before the black drum was replaced with a brand new drum and after PG10 prints as attached.

There are white lines across the middle and bottom of the page but only on black... does anyone know how to cure this given I've already replaced the drum and the same thing is happening?!

    Thanks.PG10IRC2880i.pdf

    Hello

Is that a Canon original, or a rebuild?

Did you use the Cleaning Wand (blue rod in front cover) to clean the Laser Glasses?

BLANK LINES will only be caused from Toner scattering on the Laser Glass.

BLACK LINES will be a a worn Drum/unit.

You may find the original Drum Unit is ok - check the Life in SRV MODE > DISPLAY > MISC.

        1. Replacement Black Drum is brand new genuine Canon not a rebuild or anything like that.

        2. Did you use the Cleaning Wand (blue rod in front cover) to clean the Laser Glasses?

No did not do this... what is the correct procedure for this?

        Thanks

Before drum was replaced the life of the original was at 128 I believe.

The info for the use of this Cleaner is printed inside the front cover, however above the Waste Toner Container are 4 rectangular "holes" or slots numbered 1 to 4 (4 being Black Unit) slide the Wand (with the Pad facing down) through the slots a couple of times to clean each Laser Glass .

Should I put the original drum back in?

not with 128% life you'll be back there in a week or so. Save yourself the call and put the drum in.

Make sure you do and show how to perform an auto grad. It fixes a lot of the wonky issues with colour reg being off and the like.

Full Auto gradation(setting up gradation table..does Pascal,ARCDAT and d-half control...Quick does ARCDAT and d-half).....won't correct color mis registration. Perform color correction in user mode to fix color misregistration,or reboot(machine does color displacement correction on initial rotations, awake from sleep,or while printing). It will not do color displacement correction during full or quick gradation adjustment...i know this for a fact....just fyi
