I am currently working on a laserclass 710 fax. It had an e100 error. so I replaced the laser unit. I still have the error code. How do I get rid of the code or should it go away after replacing the bad part in this case the laser unit?

Re: laserclass 710 fax error e100
E100 error indicates a problem with the Laser Scanner Unit. It can be a poor connection with or a defective Laser Scanner Unit. It may also be a poor connection with or a defective ECU Board.
You may try to reseat the connectors for the Laser Scanner Unit and the ECU Board. If part replacement is necessary, the Laser Unit may be ordered with part number HG5-2826-000 and the ECU Board may be ordered with part number HG5-3269-020.
E100 Scanner unit failure
(1) Poor contact in the laser/scanner unit connectors
(2) Defective laser/scanner unit
(3) Poor contact in the ECU board connectors
(4) Defective ECU board
Solutions:
(1) Reconnect the BD board connector (J871), laser driver board (J801), and scanner motor connector (J851).
(2) Replace the laser/scanner unit
(3) Reconnect the ECU board connectors J913 and J914 correctly.
(4) Replace the ECU board.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.** -

Re: laserclass 710 fax error e100
Thanx buddy. I just thought maybe there was a reset code for clearing the error e100. But I guess what you are saying is that the code will clear when replacing the defective part? I must not connected the connectors right. or the ecu is bad! thnx!Comment

Re: laserclass 710 fax error e100
Been a while since i played with one of these.... I believe there is a tab on the imaging cartridge that opens the laser shutter...make sure its not broken off. If its ok make sure it opens the shutter when installed . Not near one to checkComment
