Hey all,
I ran into a Phantom Paper Jam issue with a Canon Image Runner C5051 earlier and wanted to post how we were able to resolve the issue.
The copier kept having a paper jam Error (in duplexer/ stapler finisher area) and even though you would find no jam, it seemed that every time you would clear Error codes and restart the copier & try to make a copy it would throw up a paper jam error message again.
Ended up calling in another copier tech (ED) with a lot more experience than me with Canon's.
We ended up disassembling the copier; removed the duplexer unit and the stapler finisher unit.
Ended up that the output paper tray had somehow went past the Upper Limit and was not engaging (never cycling), we ended up repositioning the output tray to proper position by removing worm gear mechanism (clutch gear), re-positioning tray, and re-installing gear (make sure clutch is in correct location).
We then re-assembled copier - re-installed stapler finisher unit and duplexer unit (didn't completely tighten al screws, just enough to make it function.
Cheated the door switches, made a copy, No further issues with jamming!!
Of course after ensuring copier was working correctly, installed all screws, doors, and covers.
Then re-tested copying/ printing functions.
Hope this is helpful to someone else!
