    Canon V1 Finisher

    Hi all,

Having a problem with a Canon V1 finisher spitting paper everywhere, not pulling it back in.

Now, the finisher in question threw up an E551 error code which we found and sorted.

The problem we're facing is the two plastic flappers that spin around on the shaft, (connected by a black clip that is screwed in) doesn't spin. The only way that this will spin is when the mouth is held open - which then causes a problem of the rollers that are on the mouth cannot push the paper out.

If i do not touch the mouth the finisher will not pull paper back and cause the machine to jam.

So far we have changed ALL boards in the back of the machine and also the mouth assembly.

I'll include a video so you can see the machine working with the mouth held open.

    Hope someone can help.

Have you tried turning it off and on? No...Oh, it works now!

What I see is, your swing guide (mouth) did not fully close after you released it.
There is a black cam controlling that. It wears out.

Does the swing guide open and close when the machine is powered up.
There does not seem to be anything wrong with your paddles, but the gear and belt turning it can get damaged.
What was the original problem with that finisher.

You said you replaced the mouth assembly,
Do you mean swing guide , or the whole Operation assembly (includes swing guide).
There are a few tricks to removing and installing the operation assembly.

There is a white claw assembly you need to lower before replacing the operation assembly.
I think your swing guide is getting hung up on the claw.

Replacement of CL101 & 102 can fix Swing & misalignment problems.

I think you have the wrong finisher pal.
        V1 goes on a 7105.
I have never seen a clutch on that finisher.
Just to be certain I did a search on the parts manual and got zero clutches'

If you are referring to FH6-5101-030 , those go on 5570,5180,5800 type finishers

          JAM CODES

Tightening the lift drive belt for the Swing Guide Assembly

part number for M18 is FH6-1644-040.
Use the following procedure to rotate the M18 swing guide motor which lifts and lowers the swing guide assembly.

Note: The front door interlock must be actuated for this test mode to work.

          1) Power off the finisher
          2) Place the DIP switch SW382 to these settings

          3) Power on the finisher (Note: To test the finisher it is not necessary to power on the copier)
          4) Press switch SW385 to enter service mode
          5) Press switch SW383 to lower the swing guide
          6) Press switch SW384 to lift the swing guide
          7) Press switch SW385 to exit service mode
          8) Power off the finisher and reset DIP switch SW382 to the original setting

that "finger holding thing" on a V2 was caused by the motor.

Replaced the motor - no finger
