I have this 700 that runs frequently for a brewing co. Lines show up, he changed the printhead, was faulty out of the box. NBD canon warrenteed it, got the second one and within a week the cyan started to misfire leaving blank streaks, I advised maybe see if they will replace, they did.
FWD 1month all was printing good until this week, started to misfire on the cyan again. Nozzle check pattern is horrible on the cyan, ran the ph cleaning a few times and it just got worse. printed nozzle 3-2-1 the solid square tests were all streaked, #1 nozzle check printed the pattern and now C and M and Y are horrible. Now giving me 2f30 and 2f2f errors when i did a ph cleaning/nozzlecheck.
Reboot and ran auto and checked manual P/H adjustment and Bingo, all colors are printing. I didnt run another nozzle check. Customer proofed a few very heavy bleed marketing banners and not one hiccup.
Im just not feeling that this was a fix and im going to be back, i feel like once the printhead warmed up it started to flow it was fine.
Should i plan on looking at the head mgmt system? or purge unit.. etc.
Firmware is current/oem inks/only runs high grade poly banner marterial.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Dan
WHen the voids showed up was a cleaning performed on said printhead to see if it helped?
6.1.4.24 03800500-2F2F/03800500-2F30 Head management sensor error
0014-0999
<Cause>
The head management sensor detected an ink discharge error.
A sensor sensitivity error was detected during head management sensor position adjustment.
<Probable fault location>
Print head, head management sensor, or main controller PCB
<Countermeasure>
1) Replace the print head.
2) Visual check
Remove foreign substances from the head management sensor if any.
3) Replace the head management sensor.
4) Replace the main controller PCB.
I'd be changing the head management sensor if it's clean as the next step. If it still does it I'd check to make sure your pinouts on the cables are all ok and not shorting out at all (canon engineers absolutely love to put tie wraps so tight that it causes issues)
Yea, Thats what was on the agenda, I just got back and didnt feel right about how it all went down.
Hes got a shit ton of work to do on it today so we shall see.. if it is the HMS its should glitch soon enough.
I keep you posted.
Almost beer thirty! (no doubt when he will call back)
Thanks Buddy.
These arseholes with massive jobs to do on a machine that's too small for their needs, and those who calls at 4pm on friday expecting I'm going to run over...monday morning's another day lol
Okay, got this thing in house here and got the Head mgmt unit changed, ran the noz position check, failed with the 2f2f error. ran it again while shining a flashlight on it to see functionality and it passed, twice with the flashlight. ran it again without the light error 2f2f.
It only appears to affect the cyan part of the head, if I print the nozzle check everything looks good except the cyan grid and if i print the test that prints the individual solid colors they streak from left to right.
Now I ran a printhead adjustment and all the color segments come out.
Im scratching my head here.
Any Ideas?
I had similar problems before with an iPF8300S whereby one of the matte black grids was actually printing out cyan and the cyan grid was not coming out correctly at all. Ended up being a purge unit issue - the waste ink was pooling on those little pads when it was going through it's cleaning cycle and then it would contaminate the lines.
Try booting into service mode and running a nozzle1 pattern under the service mode prints. If you print in normal more the nozzle check test will try to compensate for misfires in nozzles. The service version is the true output - I think it's under menu -> service mode -> adjust -> print pattern -> nozzle1.
