canon ir 1600

canon ir 1600 was showing waster toner full replace drum, i replaced the drum unit, but it still gives the same message, i did Error clear , still the message keep on coming, wht could be the problem pls help.

When the drum fills with waste it pushes out a gear at theback & actuates a switch. Check this switch is not stuck in etc.

sensor actuator, highlighted below, may be stuck in a depressed position or the torsion spring may have come off.

Waste Toner Case Full Sensor, PS120, is activated by the lever shown below.
