    irc4080 occasional blank copy

We have an IRC4080 in the field that is giving an occasional blank copy and then the copy that follows has a double image. The double image copy exits properly and then the next copy jams before hitting the transfer unit. You can run about 5 copies without a problem but if you run 10 or more this will more than likely occur. This is happening on b/w copies, not sure about color, the customer doesn't use the color. We are going back out with another itb assembly to test but wondered if anyone else has seen this.

Sorry, we replaced the feed tires/sep rollers and this does happen out of both paper trays.

        -------------
        jam code ??
        paper size ?
        on copies & prints ?

when u receive that jam> look in service mode & make sure on jam history it lists the correct paper size u are using
if wrong size is indicated > check PS26 Registration Sensor Flag movement (stiff/sticks/hangs up)

check the Cassettes> make sure the the Body Gear Post is not broken (will cause size plate to shift/mis-idenity of paper/poor paper feed)
remove paper & shake tray upside down

Jam code is 0201 when using cassette 1 and 0202 when using cassette 2. Paper size is correct, Letter. Only use as a copier, not connected for print. Cassette paper guides are intact and stationary.

            02xx Retention jamor Stationary Jam

xx01 Cassette 1 retry sheet sensor (PS16)=detects paper retry operation

the one way gear FU3-0289-000/ that drives the vertical path roller in the pick up assembly(s) may be slipping.

              ---------------------

there was also an issue with

the claw on the separation roller, which resides on the paper pick-up roller holder, can become worn . This can cause the separation roller to become loose or slide out of position----------------------------
When this occurs the paper is not fed properly.
can result in jam code issues------------for below
              Cassette 1 retry sensor delay
              Cassette 2 retry sensor delay
              Cassette 3 retry sensor delay
              Cassette 4 retry sensor delay
              Registration sensor delay

To minimize this from occurring, a plastic part has been added to the metal shaft of the paper pickup roller holder to prevent wear of the claw on the separation roller.
check the claw on the separation roller. If it is worn and the separation roller is coming off, replace the separation roller and the paper pick-up roller holder with new ones.
