    Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors

    Hey all,

Either I am blind or I have a bad parts manual.

I know that the thermistors are supposed to be shown in the parts manual.

    I have checked images 810, 811, 812, 813, & 815.

I cannot find any mention of them in the parts manual.

I have Error Code E001 -003. High Temp detected.

I was thinking about changing the thermistors our before I did anything else.

But I can't find the part # in the parts manual.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    IKE

BTW: I already went through the error clear process and still have the issue when I try to print or copy.

OK so from looking around I don't think the thermistors are a separate part of the Film unit/

I could be wrong on this.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

E001-0000/0001/0003 error codes may occur due to either the center or the ends of the fixing film heating up.

DCON version 60.01 which comes bundled with System Software version 56.01.03 added a specification change on when the heater is turned OFF at a specific temperature.

Only the FILM UNIT ASSEMBLY can be replaced

        Thanks Tek!!

        Figured that much!!

        Already ordered that part.

The manual also said to change the Fixing Shutter, do you think I need to order that too, or wait and see if the film unit fixes it?

        Thanks again

I'm guessing you have tried to reset the error?

            Hi Canon Tech,

YEs that is at the bottom of my first post.

I tried it about 3 times, I even left the machine OFF for like 30 mins. after clearing the last time and still comes up.

ITs fine until you try to copy or print, so they could always not do either of those

When ordering Fixing Film assy's beware of the VOLTAGE, US machines are 120Volts units and ASIA-EUROPEAN machines are 220-240Volts.
                  The Part numbers are different.

                    Thanks SPectrain,

I already made sure I ordered the correct voltage one.

I hope he gave you decent price for one! These are a bit pricey.

                          OK SO,

                          Got new Film Unit in,

NO GO, Still getting E0001-003 error.

Tried resetting machine, clearing error in Service mode, clearing DC-Con. All to no avail.

Just decided to order a new shutter and a DC Controller PCB Assy.

Hoping these steps will fix the issue.

Any other ideas while I am waiting on the parts to show up?

                          Thanks

You may check the AC Driver PCB too (Optocouplers and Triacs), also check the connectors of the thermistors.
