Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Thanks for the info.
One question, will I need an active external internet connection??
I am not sure if these copiers have internet access or just LAN.
Thanks

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
You will indeed need external connectivity in order to flash via CDS. If you need the firmware pm me an ftp or some way to upload the files and I'll do it for ya.Comment

Actually it appears that it will reach out and talk to the world.
Was not sure (at a secure location here) not everything here has outside the firewall access.

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Update on issue.
OK Installed NEW PCB and Shutter.
Still no joy.
Turn on machine, Let it come all the way up, Try to print or copy, and it throws E001 - 000, check error codes in Service mode - it shows E001-000 location 05.
Any other ideas as to what else I can do to fix this problem (Short of a piece of C4 or a stick of Dynamite)
Thanks for all the help.

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Sorry TekCat,
That was just a JOKE. I should have just said it was a joke in the comments.
It seems like I have been fighting with this thing for ever, so I just said that is was 99.04 update from me on this.
Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Check the following in Service Mode: DISPLAY > ANALOG >
FIX-C, and Monitor the Temperature at initial Rotation.
If the temp is 260 deg C or more, check the Fixing Drive Motor M21.
-Replace the Fixing Drive Assembly and the Fixing Motor at the same time. The part numbers are below:
Fixing Drive Assembly FM3-5967-000
Fixing Motor FK2-7302-000
EXAMPLE
Make sure the fuser pressure roller bearing holders are/ was not installed backwards

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Thanks for the idea Tekcat.
I will check it out tomorrow.
Just FYI, the Fuser never even gets warm when the error comes up.
I can reach in and it is cold as ice (at least there is no heat in the area of the fuser).
Thanks again.

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
If the one-way bearing in the fixing drive assembly is slipping and the 26T gear is worn.
This will cause the fixing film to not rotate consistently and get too hot. Replacement of the one-way gear assembly FL3-1198-000 and the
26T gear FU8-0178-000 could resolve the error code.

I checked it 2 times, temp never goes above 28C on fix c, and never goes above 200C on Fix E and Fix E2.
Anything else I might try.
thanks so much for the ideas,
I never have easy issues , lol

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Thanks for al the help Tekcat,
I will check the pressure roller (although I think it was installed right) the copier was working for over a month after that was put in, but could still be that.
I will also check the AC Driver PCB.
Are there particular voltages I need to look for?
Thanks again.

Re: Canon IRA C5051 Thermistors
Are the thermistors readings the same as on Teckats foto ?
If one indicates a low temperature I asume it is not reaching the DC controller -> check the cabling.
A disconnected thermistor will cause overheating causing E001.
The heaters of this machine only come on when it is printing, so go to Service Mode to read the temperatures and print something.
All the three thermistors should indicate a rise in temperature, if not then the one which does not rise is the cause.Comment
