    [Misc] Canon IR2270 Toner Door Open

    Canon IR2270. Had just performed a Drum replacement and replaced the heat sink roller on the Fuser unit. Machine appeared to test up ok.
    By the end of the day the copier was jamming regularly and on run-up would flash "Close Toner Door".
    Looked like dull switch as message would flicker. It may be this causing the unit to jam as paper position in feed would vary between jams.

      I had to replace that sensor once for a jamming issue as odd as that sounds. Check that you didn't knock it out of its holder.

          Further to door open problem. Machine runs to ready....Then will jam with paper at different locations. (rego roller, 1/2way thru fuser, just leaving paper tray). Despite this, the jam code is expressed the same each time

              I know it sounds odd. I thought so too. But when I replaced that sensor the jamming problems I was having went away. Always 0b00 code. Try it

                  Had one of these before on a 3570 with 1.5 million on it. Changed photo interrupt,etc. Had to cut ty wraps from harness. Try extending the actuator on the door or taping sensor to see how it runs.

                      That registration actuator wears down and throws off the "tripping point" of the photo interruptor.

                          Thank you Brian8506,
                          Right on the money with this fix. I appreciate all the feedback on this issue. Door sensor was cause and was intermittent in faulting.

                              I'm speaking of actuator(flag) on door for toner cover. Looks like it was the toner door sensor anyway
