    [Electrical] image runner 2270 unresponsive

I have an image runner 2270 that locks up during copying and printing , works fine briefly after turning it off and back on but will return to a locked up status. Has anyone else had this issue and could please let me know is this a controller problem or just a memory problem or even a hard drive problem or something else entirely thank you

    Hard drive is dying, firmware.

First run a copier > Function > System > HD-CLear and see if that helps. Had this issue two weeks ago and an HD-CLEAR fixed it.

E002 is a fuser problem. In service mode go copier/function/clear/err/ok. Power off and on. But you probably have a bad heating element. I've had that and sometimes you will get an E000 after resetting. Hard drive is FK2-4907-000

this is a great site lots of info -- now I started with I have a bad hard drive and has now turned into a bad hard drive and a bad fuser heating element - can the failing hard drive cause the error codes or is it possible I have a bad controller problem causing all my issues or is this just a coincidence that both problems have arose at the same time , customer is getting a flustered as I am. They feel they have gotton a lemon machine - I did not sell this machine but they have informed me that the place they bought it have been out 15 times since they bought it a year ago.

Coincidence. Replace the upper fuser assembly. You'll need the service support tool to load software if you replace the hard drive. You sure that's where the noise is coming from? Usually you'll get an E602 if the hard drive is going. Check the error history to see if there's any. Maybe the other service company was just using band aids.

                ---------------

noise from any HD is a HD going bad>

E002 = fixing assembly low temperature

                check fix unit film
check for correct wall voltage supply
Through experience it has been determined that less than .5 volt AC should be measured between ground and neutral. If absolute zero is measured then it may be an indication that the ground is not connected or that some other problem may exist within the outlet.

also>If between ground and neutral is extremely high> this cause erratic operations & error codes
Fluctuations, spikes, surges and drops in voltage sometimes require a long term reading such as can be achieved with a line monitor.
Below are two examples of where to place your meter leads to measure ground to neutral on 120VAC wall outlets.

You have the E0002 error because you have been turning themachine on/off without shutting it down correctly. Most likely you can reset this. The other fault you have is the HDD failing. I actually have a spare one if thats any good to you?, it has the firmware pre-loaded so all you have to do it plug it in quick easy fix.

If that hard drive was crapping out it would log some 602 errors. Personally i would clean/reseat ram, mcon and dcon plugs. Clear the ram then install the newest firmware. If still issues replace the HDD...old model and drive could be on its way
