I had this fault on an ir6570. The mechanism / spring behind the handle to release the fixing/feeder frame assembly had trapped some small wires. It took down the dc controller. I confirmed the fault by trying the unit in another machine and blowing that dc controller also! ....Doh!

      ---------------------

      disconnect FINISHER>
Power up > check for message

      if message stays on/
check COPIER>DISPLAY>ANALOG,note if the fixing temperature is increasing. -- check if the main Thermistor is properly contacting the Upper Fixing Roller.

      or
      attach Finisher>

In Service Mode change COPIER>OPTION>USER>TRAY-STP from 0 to 1 and cycle the main power switch.

The copier determines that the tray is full utilizing one of two methods: by counting the copies or by determining the presence of paper using the "height" sensor.
By changing the setting, printing / copying will now be suspended based on the height sensor instead of by count.

Note: Be aware that if a large job is run with a single corner staple, the stapled corner may not be detected by the height sensor and exiting paper may jam if it hits the paper that is already on the tray.

        Hello,

What has been proposed by Mr Mender may be interesting. The "fixing/feeding unit" may not be well engaged and couldn't be detected by the machine. Go to Service mode > Copier > I/O > P04 Bit 1 ( the second bit from the right). If = 0, the fixing/feeding unit is connected. Othewise it isn't.

I have used the IR6000 service manual.

Does it run without staple cartridge in it? If so issue with staple cartridge. If not correctly installed machine will do exactly this. You answered your own question probably....staple catridge. Common on all Canons

Yes you are right Teckat, the main thermistor doesnt contact upper fixing roller. After changed the new staple cartridge and cleaning the main thermistor and it related components ( spring, holder, steel rod), everything is fine now. Thank you
