Irc 4080 front & back image shift

    Hi,
Has anyone encountered this problem: when printing front & back using bypass heavy stock, I get image
Registration shift, it varies 3 to 5 mm or more. Using 250 gsm card stock.
Happens on bypass second side pass.
This very frustrating specially when printing double sided business cards.
Double sided prints from trays using 80 gsm paper is ok.
So far tried to clean bypass feed roll and registration roller but problem stayed.

Here is some feedback that I want to share,

After removing the registration feed assembly, I cleaned all rubber rollers and shafts with blanket wash.
This fixed the problem. The reason I used blanked wash is that it cleans rubber really good and works as a rubber rejuvenator.

One thing I can say about the machines: defenitely not a machine for heavy paper stock use.
Mi personal experience; anny paper weigth until 200 gsm works fine, annything above that and you start getting problems on the long runs.

One good tip for anybody manually duplexing is to make sure that you use the same lead edge when feeding the second side. Get the curl off it first. When you use the same lead edge, it will register the image more accurately because the timing is triggered from the lead edge. If there is any variance in the length of the stock(printers like to cut their own),it will be reflected at the end(non image area). Rotate the image for the second pass. If front to rear reg is good(easily controllable),lead edge will be accurate on both sides and you will have excellent results.

Making Prints Using the Stack Bypass

If you are making prints on tracing paper, labels, tab paper, transparencies, nonstandard paper size stock, or envelopes, load the paper stock into the stack bypass.
IMPORTANTNote the following points when using the stack bypass:
        - Paper Quantity: one to approximately 100 sheets (20 lb bond (80 g/m2), stack approximately 3/8" (10 mm) high)
        - Paper Size: 3 15/16" x 5 7/8" to 12 5/8" x 18" (100 mm x 148 mm to 320 mm x 457 mm)
        - Paper Weight: 17 lb bond to 140 lb index (64 to 253 g/m2)
        - Paper which has been rolled or curled must be straightened out prior to use, to allow the paper to feed smoothly through the stack bypass (allowable curl amount: less than 3/8" (10 mm) for normal paper, less than 1/5" (5 mm) for heavy paper).
There are some types of paper stock which may meet the above specifications, but cannot be fed into the stack bypass.Depending on the type of heavy paper you want to load, if you load multiple sheets of heavy paper into the stack bypass, a paper jam may occur. In this case, load only one sheet of heavy paper at a time.If you are making two-sided prints, select the 2-Sided mode.To print on the back side of pre-printed paper, load the paper into the stack bypass, and press [2nd Side of 2-Sided Page] on the paper selection screen that appears.especially if you are using heavy paperNOTE
