    this has been happening every few days off and on. I have already swapped out the fuser twice and drum. seems to work fine then it returns day or two later. there are no codes in the history.. I am attaching a picture sent to me from the customer. hopefully you can make it out.

    Image is scrambled when Scanning. & or Printing or both
    Check CCD Ribbon Cable for the CIS Unit

    Do Internal prints look fine.

    --Copies and prints are smeared.

    verify that the values for the following service modes match the values on label attached to the Laser.
    [1] COPIER > ADJUST > LASER > LDADJ1-K
    [2] COPIER > ADJUST > LASER > LDADJ2-K
    [3] COPIER > ADJUST > LASER > LDADJ3-K
    [4] COPIER > ADJUST > LASER > LDADJ4-K
    [5] COPIER > ADJUST > LASER > LDADJ5-K
    [6] COPIER > ADJUST > LASER > LDADJ6-K

      Sorry, they say they haven't noticed it on prints. My internal prints and reports are ok, but then again so are copies when i get there. Seemed like i may have gotten it on a report the other day but can't be for certain. It was a rough day...lol

        Supposedy they can scan to the pc, then print it back to the copier...and it works everytime...

          And fyi, this example ia LTR not LTR-r....
          How accessible ia the laser?
          Im gonna run back out there and do some more internal prints...

            Went back out there and watched them copy 500+ without a problem, but it will return. So dunno. lol

              seen this before, the contact between the 2ndry transfer roller is not sitting correctly, there is a Tec bulliten about it

                Thanks for the info. The pub describes blur only at the trail edge. This one occurs over the entire page.did you experience that also?

                  Is that print wiping off? Laser is under receiving tray or finisher

                    yea, has happened when the pin was badly bent out of shape/off completely.

                    had it a couple of times with these machines, thankfully most have been replaced now though.

                        Reseat the CIS cables.....also reseat plug where reader controller plugs into Dc controller....seen this a couple times on 3245...and yes...the ground clip on metal reg roller

                          I like that re-seat idea mentioned by the previous poster. You wouldn't believe how many bizarre problems have been solved by re-seating the connectors on the main boards. This one looks very much like a digital data transfer type of glitch, perhaps a connection is intermittent.
