[Misc] Macintosh OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) Driver for Fiery Products

Release of the Macintosh OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) Driver for Fiery Products

the release of the Macintosh OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) Driver for Fiery products. This driver also supports Macintosh OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

The Macintosh OS X 10.9 installers are signed installers. These installers may run certificate validation over the network to check the Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL). Users may experience slowness in driver installation based on their network configuration.
    Supported Products:
    Supported OS:
    INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

Note: If an older EFI Fiery printer driver is installed, use the Fiery Software Uninstaller included with this updated driver to remove it before installing the updated driver. The previous driver may cause printing conflicts if not properly removed. Driver

    1. Copy the compressed driver zip file to your desktop and uncompress the zip file containing the .dmg file.
    2. Double click the .dmg file to mount it.
    3. Open the mounted location, then the User Software folder and double click the Fiery Driver Installer
    and follow the on-screen instructions.
    4. Once completed add the printer as you normally would.
    LIMITATIONS:
    1. While adding a printer and selecting the "Internet Printing Protocol" (IPP printing), the "hold" queue is not available. Specify "print" or "direct" queue in the "Queue" field.
    2. If an older Macintosh OS v10.7.x is upgraded to Macintosh OS v10.9.x, it is required to remove the previous installation of the driver using the Fiery Software Uninstaller and reinstall the driver.
    3. While printing from an application, switching between different print queues consecutively during the same print session may cause this application to crash. This is an Apple OS specific issue and is reported to Apple for resolution.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

When I access the imagePRESS Server Q2 V2 page on the Canon USA Support site, it states that there is no Software or Drivers available for Mac OS X 10.9. Can anyone advise a specific location to find these updated drivers? I can't even find the post/release statement quoted in this original post anywhere on the Canon site.

        Thanks so much!!

              Product : imagePRESS Server Q1 / Q2

Title : Upgrading from imagePRESS Server Q1 to imagePRESS Server Q2

Question : Can an imagePRESS Server Q1 be upgraded to an imagePRESS Server Q2?

Answer : By installing the imagePRESS Server Q2 system software, you can upgrade the imagePRESS Server Q1 Ver.1.1 to imagePRESS Server Q2 Ver.2.0. There is no hardware upgrade; the same hardware platform for imagePRESS Server Q1 can be used for the imagePRESS Server Q2 Ver.2.0.

It is important to note, however, that a Q2 which has been upgraded from a Q1 will not support the use of Clear Toner with the imagePress C1.

The software and printer differences are displayed as shown below in the Configuration Page

imagePRESS Server Q1 Ver.1.x: EFI Fiery System 8 imagePRESS Server Q2 Ver.2.0: EFI Fiery System 8 Release 2

imagePRESS Server Q1 Ver.1.x: Canon imagePRESS Server Q1 imagePRESS Server Q2 Ver.2.0: Canon imagePRESS Server Q2

When the imagePRESS Server Q2 software is installed, each version of the controller shows "2.0".

When the imagePRESS Q1v1.1 is upgraded, the connections of Command and Status Crossover Cable and Network Cable are the same as before the upgrade.

When upgrading from imagePRESS Server Q1 to imagePRESS Server Q2, it is also required to upgrade the imagePRESS C1 to the latest firmware version available.

Teckat, Thanks for your input... Had no idea a Q1 can be upgraded to a Q2.... Now how can I get my hands on the Q2 system software.....
Having a c1 plus with Q2 server (but no cds) Do you think if I clone the hard drive and install on it on the Q1 would do the trick???

What do you use to clone such disks? Do I have to do it on a Linux system? Or a windows image/cloning software will do the trick...
