Calibrate Touch Points On The LCD Display
The calibration is a Service Mode Function. in Service Mode>Function>Panel>TOUCHKEY
Use it to match points of presses on the touch panel and the LCD coordinates.
Execute this mode if you have replaced the LCD unit.
Using the Mode:
Select TOUCHKEY and press the OK key.
Press ' + ' indicated on the touch panel at nine locations in sequence. You might need a FINE TIP instrument to assist in this step.
Select TOUCHKEY once again to end the operation.
Note: There are times when the '+' symbol is off the screen and the adjustment cannot be performed. Additionally, the touch panel may not respond at all and no adjustment can be performed, in either case the defective component will need to be replaced.

Isn't there on top of the LCD unit a touch panel with this machine? I mean inside the unit marked pos.20. I have no machine at hand but am asking for a customer.

I think he means what I call a digitizer. I know its not call that here but it is what detects finger press on the screen. The LCD doesnt do that as it only displays video to our eyes. This touch screen or digitizer lays on top of the lcd. Just like on a smartphone and every other device in the world using touchscreens.
Unless the touch overlay is permantely attached to the lcd as one part, In the picture posted I'm guessing its item number 1.

It looks physically very much as Pos.1 but that's not the part. The part I mean has a 4-wire ribbon cable connected to it. That ribbon cable is likely the right hand one coming out of Pos.20. (J-6507)
Obviously Canon does not have a separate part # for it as with their other machines. Example: FK2-0329-000 or FK2-0246-000 for the iR2220, 3300, iRC5800 etc.
Canon doesn't have a part # for that touch panel. Get an LCD from Nationwide. Fairly cheap. 5020 and 6020 have separate number but the LCD is different.
