    IRA 8095 Hole punch misaligne

    Hey all,

I can't find anything in the SM about this. (Still searching)

How do I adjust or modify the hole puncher settings.

I am getting a misaligned hole set on my 8.5 * 11 paper when I do hole punching with finished.

it is off by about 1/4" from 1 end of paper to the other.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

BTW there is NO error code being generated from this.

I do notice a slight crease in the paper next to where the hole punching is, not sure if this is normal or a symptom of the issue.

Re: IRA 8095 Hole punch misaligne

crease would indicate that the paper is dragging on something, thus throwing off your timing. Check to ensure that the punch unit is ineed installed correctly and flush. Do you have the punch SM?

Also Pro punch c1 or regular punch ?

    edit: Problem :
The hole punch produced by the BE1/BF1/BG1/BH1 internal punch unit during a copy or print job would change its hole punch location. The position moves from the standard factory default hole location towards the rear (in the direction of the rear of the machine). It moves by 1/2 inch during the job run. No error codes or jam codes where associated with this issue.

    Solution :
Replacement of the DC-CON PCB in the imageRUNNER ADVANCE was required to resolve the intermittent variation in hole punch location.

    Edit 2:

This Knowledge Base article relates to the Internal Finisher Punch unit BF-1.

The Service Mode adjustment "PNCH-X" located under SORTER>ADJUST><PNCH-X> does not change the hole punch position in the feed direction when the value is changed.

Service Mode Lv1>SORTER>OPTION><PUCH-SW> (must be set to 1)
This setting is to switch from High Productivity Punch Mode to High Accuracy Punch Mode.

Once PUCH-SW is set to 1, the following service mode setting will allow you to adjust the hole punch position in the feed direction.
    Service Mode Lv1>SORTER>ADJUST><PNCH-X>

Let me know how it goes.

      Hi Northern & Thanks

I am not sure if its the Pro Punch C1 or regular punch (how would I tell).

As for the problem note you provided:
The issue here is that on the end closest to the rear of the copier the hole is correct location (bottom of paper), but as you travel up the edge of the paper it gets closer to the edge, the middle hole is about halfway closer to the edge and the final hole is on the edge (top of paper). The misalignment is at an angle and not straight.

As far as I can tell the puncher appears to be installed properly, it just started this in the past 24 hours or so.

I appreciate any and all help, & Know I do not have the SM for the puncher or finisher (only SM for copier itself and parts man for copier).

      Thanks again.

        Hey Northern,

It appears that PunchX was set to 0, reset to +5 and now my holes are aligned properly.
Not sure what happened, but its working right now, so I will NOT mess with it any more LOL

        Thanks a bunch again!!
