ir5050 with weird error code pattern

I'd like to say that the error codes are totally random but then I'd be wrong. There seems to be a repeat sequence with not just the codes but the assumed paper source. Anyhow the copier will run well for several thousand prints before this shows up, the codes will also always be accompanied with a jammed piece of paper in the vertical path just out of the LTR tray but I suspect that it's just as a result of the barrage of error codes. My first guess is power issues since the copier is in a factory setting but maybe somebody knows otherwise.

    Thanks for any help,

and yes it has a cheater plug on it.

I had one 2 days ago.
That sequence has always been there since 5570.
It always ended up being a fuser issue.
    Mine would pop e001s
After putting a refurb fuser in it, I've got that sequence twice, ending with e002.
I have never noticed the 000c subcode on e 674 before.
All the info I could find on e674 shows communication problem between fax and main controller. However no mention of 000c subcode..

Power cheated? Plugged into 15 amp receptacle? Unsafe for one thing. I would tell customer to install dedicated 20 amp receptacle then call me if it still does it. Personally I would not even service the machine with that power situation....

This, exactly this. 732 is reader comm error, 733 is printer comm error, 674 is fax comm error. Either something is taking down the required voltages I'd be ensuring that the plug it indeed wired correctly and on a dedicated 20 amp circuit.

You may want to try Confirm Multicast discovery is turned off in Additional Functions>System>Network>TCP/IP>Multicast set to off (0).

Multicast discovery may cause machine to reboot, lock up and also when network cable is plugged in , generate E733/E732 codes.

          -----------------------------------------------------------------------
many customers will not pay for a dedicated line/ but we make it a must on all new installs & contract re-renewals/ or they can shop for a contract elsewhere

          -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------Bet this is a grounding issue somewhere/short to GD OR FLOATING GROUND
check pcb/s make sure they are screwed in firm with star tooth-washer screws where needed/
they are needed for good chassis-ground connection especially on pcb boards

over time>tech's remove these screws/w star tooth-washers on pcb's/ metal covers and other areas that need them
loose or improper use can result in poor ground where needed/

also need to check for your
Neutral to GD ----must be 0v>0.5v (no higher)
          Hot to GD
          Neutral to Hot

            E732-0001 Code
Check the condition of the pair of flat ribbon cables that run from the Reader Controller PCB to the Interface PCB
            ------------------------------------------
            E732
Check for 24 Volts into the Interface PCB at J301 Pin 1. If the 24 Volts is not present, check for for 24 Volts at the DC-DC PCB on connectors J123 Pin 1 and J127 Pin 4. If 24 Volts is present at J123 but not at J127, replace the DC-DC PCB. If no Voltage is present at either connector, then check the Jumper located under the DC Controller.

In troubleshooting this E732-0001 error code, the first check is to verify the presence of 24v & 13v at J301 of the Interface PCB.
NO 24v or 13v was detected at J301.
These voltages are generated from the Converter PCB, the general circuit diagram describes this pcb as a DC-DC PCB. Check to see if J6 is outputting the 24v & 13v, if no voltage is measured, check for 24v at J5. The 24v is an input to J5 from the Accessory Power Supply. To generate DC voltage out from the Accessory Power Supply, AC voltage and a Remote voltage must be present. In this occurrence, AC voltage was measured at J3501 and a Remote voltage of 2v was present at J3502 of the Accessory Power supply. Replacing the Accessory Power Supply, part number FK2-3476-000
