Canon IRC4080i / Drivers Colours Issues

Hi I have just joined and have some questions relating to a Canon IRC4080i

My intro thread is located here; http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sh...369#post396369

Since writing that I have managed to make a booklet though the colours have all gone to pot which leaves me thinking I am most likely using the wrong drivers.

I have a PC with Windows 7 and am linked to the machined with a regular printer cable.

When I use the imagePASS-c1v2.1_PS_Vista_Print drivers the colours are all too dark but I have access to a GUI so I can change the printer settings.

I really do not mind reading up on it but I am some what confused and have been sat here for nearly 24 hours straight trying to get this to work.

    Any ideas please?

U need to First Calibrate the Printer & then the Fiery
      (if connected)
      Color Calibration.pdf

imagePass C1 drivers are not for this model

if u have a imagePass connected it is a H1

          OK sorry another question,

My canon copier is connected to a windows PC using a regular printer cable.

The only extras I can see on the printer are the finishings unit. I still do not get what the H1 / Fiery is

Printer Kits for many of the newer Canon devices are LMS based.

You can check for the LMS-based Printer Kit on the Canon device the same way as you would check for any other installed LMS-based option or kit.

            Perform the following steps:

            1. Press the [Counter Check] button on the copier control panel.

            2. Hit the [Device Configuration] button on the LCD screen.

            3. Scroll down through all of the available pages on this Device Configuration screen. Look for either PS, PCL or UFRII. The methods listed here (ex. PS, PCL, or UFRII) are installed and are available for printing.

For example, if you find UFRII and PCL, but do not find PS on this screen on an iR C5180, it means that the UFRII/PCL Printer Kit is installed, but the PS Printer Kit is not installed. The exact Canon Printer Kits available vary by device model. See your specific device's documentation for more information.

            * Note - You will need to install the appropriate printer drivers on the workstation in order to print.

Hi I am using a regular printer cable to my PC USB port - the cat 5 in this shot is not connected to anything. I have back dated my system settings as all the drivers are now starting to cause problems.

Is color output of machine correct? If print engine is not good, never get good prints.... What is controlling colors....app or machine....under color management in driver. Many variables....rendering?

Re: Canon IRC4080i / Drivers Colours Issues

If I let windows sort the machine out I can make basic prints and the colours and quality are OK.

If I try using the drivers the colours are dark and have too much green in them.

I have printed onto photo paper, and 100 GSM copier paper.

All I want to be able to do is make A3 folded booklets BUT if I use the window drivers this is not offered as an option to me.

Basically my issue I think at the moment is all to do with drivers. I can not seem to find any that work with this machine. I tried one suggested above but nothing the print job shows in the que though fails.

I just printed again using the printer option highlighted, it was perfect ran like a dream BUT I can not access this other screen which is where all majic and features I want seem to be -

Thanks Teckat I know this sounds totally stupid but which one, I am going mad with this at the moment it is so annoying. I know its likely to be a very simple to solve but I am struggling, can not see the woods for the trees

                              UFRII/PCL Printer Kit-N1 is standard on the imageRUNNER C5180i / C4580i / C4080i models.

Technically, the PCL5e has been superceded by PCL6

the layout of some documents may be altered if they are originally created for a PCL5 compliant printer, but are printed using PCL6.
PCL6 is a good general purpose text / graphics driver. Ideal for Spreadsheets, Word Processing and Database printouts. It features superior graphics handling, although graphically better than the PCL5e driver it's speed is typically slower.
