Image Runner 2270 blank horizontal streak on top of print outs

    Hi Guys!

I have a Canon Image Runner 2270 that prints a blank white (very washed out) streak or band horizontally on top of the page from left to right, it's about 1.5 inches, it prints like this at all the time when I scan, copy or print from a computer, also from
    internal prints.
I did nothing yet, but just inspect the inside of the printer, since I dont know much about this printers, not an expert tech here, I used to fix computers and networking and from time to time to replace fusers and maintenance kits on smaller printers, but this one is huge, but today I was requested to take a look on to this printer issue, and I will appreciatte if and expert here can tell me how to identify the culprit, since I dont want to order a developer, toner or any other component if there's no need to.

I did not uploaded a sample since I forgot to bring the it from the customer office, I was running today, but I will post one tomorrow if neccesary.

Anyone know a fix for this? Thanks in advance!

It's either gonna be a developer unit problem, drum problem or fuser film problem. How many copies on the drum?

Are they using non oem toner? If so there is probably toner on or just before the laser shield glass. If not you probably have a blocked\damaged mag roller or bad developer unit.

If the problem occurs also with internal prints it could be the Polygon Mirror Motor (Laser Unit) - Post a sample might be the best way for Techs to assist.

          hi,

a sample picture would be great,

it could be the obviouse parts like drum, fuser, developing assembly (there could be a slight blockage on your doctor blade in the dev assy).

another part thats always overlooked is the laser assembly, check that there is no toner on top of the laser glass, and last but not least it could be your drum is on its way out.

if possible send sample image, it would help a lot.

          hope this helps,

          cheers....
