    [Error Code] Canon IRC 1021i error code E000744

    Hello. I am getting error code E000744 on my Canon Image Runner Color 1021i. I was trying to clear previous configurations of the machine in the Service Menu -> COPIER->FUNCTION->CLEAR, and in one of them the machine rebooted and showed the error. Maybe i did something on the service menu that made this happen but i am not sure as this was the second time i was trying the procedure, and the first time nothing similar happened, only i cleared all dept data, passwords, and network setting.

      From the service menu i was able to print the JAM/ERR LOG REPORT
      In the error list there is only one error with date and time and the following numbers
      0744 0003 045631

          re-install the System Software.
          To upgrade this machine, download the firmware from PC to the machine with using the user support tool (hereinafter called UST).
          1) Start PC.
          2) Connect the machine and a PC with a USB cable.
          3) Turn ON the machine and enter the download mode in service mode.
          COPIER> FUNCTION> SYSTEM> DOWNLOAD
          [USB DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE] is displayed on the control panel.

          1) Open the UST (wlaaXXXX-ust-all.exe).
          XXXX: firmware version
          2) Note the firmware version that the current one will be updated to and click "Next".
          3) Select Next
          4)Select a USB connected device and click "Next".
          5) Click "Start".
          6) Click "Yes".
          Download will be started.
          7) When download is complete, click "OK".
          The machine restarts automatically.
          8) Check that the firmware version is the same as the one checked in step 2) in service mode.
          COPIER> DISPLAY> VERSION



          Bootable (Main) & Language must be updated together

          where did u get this machine from ?/ were u trying to update printer ?


          E744
          0001 Language file version error
          0002 Language file size error
          0003 Language file version error==0003 /
          The language file version does not match Bootable.
          0004 Language file read error

              I got the machine for my office like a month ago. It is a used one, that's why i needed to clean the settings as i could not install it from the network, actually i installed it, but whenever i printed something it just made a beep in the machine and no print, so i thought there something more i need to clean in system menu .

              Thank You for Your help, but i need some more info, like where can i get the UST and where can i download the firmware from (does it come with the UST).

                      do u have a service manual for this model

                      is this what u did ???? in service mode

                      COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR> ALL
                      Clearing of the following items
                      - USER DATA
                      - SERVICE DATA
                      - JOB ID
                      - Histories
                      - Clearing date
                      MEMO:
                      USER DATA/SERVICE DATA are initialized for the default destination setting.

                      After clearing the RAM data (ALL CLEAR) in the main controller PCB, perform
                      the following procedure.
                      did u do this procedure

                      1. Backup the user data /Import the user data using the remote UI.
                      2. Enter the flicker adjustment value of the control panel

                      1)Using the service mode, check the flicker value of the control panel.
                      TESTMODE> PANEL> FLICKER CHECK START> FLICKER ADJUST

                      Using the service mode, enter the adjustment value checked in Step 1).
                      TESTMODE> PANEL> FLICKER CHECK START> FLICKER ADJUST
                      -Using the user mode, execute automatic gradation correction (full correction).
                      Initial Setting/Registration> Adjustment/Cleaning> Automatic Gradation
                      Correction> Full Correction






                      go into service mode and try to restore the backup data of the DC controller stored in NVRAM of the main controller PCB to NVRAM of the DC controller PCB.

                      COPIER> FUNCTION> VIFFNC> RSTR-DCN

                      then-Execute "Initial Setting/Registration > Adjustment/Cleaning > Automatic
                      Gradation Correction > Full Correction

                          did u do a Copier > Function > Clear > Type
                          to change the default for Country Language ?????????????

                          what Language was originally being used on this Printer                           ??????
                          go back into service mode to set back Language



                          Get Into Download Mode When Service Mode is Unavailable

                          1) Power on the laptop and connect to the machine via a USB cable.

                          2) Hold down the #2 key and turn on the machine.

                          3) Keep holding the #2 key down until the "USB DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE" message is displayed.
                          Note: The machine will cycle, the progress bar screen will come on and go off. Keep holding the #2 key until the download message is on the screen.

                          4) Now you can start downloading the SSW.

                              Sorry to say this, I did the same bullshit : I was trying to clear previous configurations of the machine in the Service Menu -> COPIER->FUNCTION->CLEAR

                              After boot: I am getting some japanese text and then E0744 003.

                              I understand, I do need UST with german firmware - WHERE is it found ? There is no hint in this thread - anyone can help me ?


                              So for now the Printer is bricked - anyone who like to get it in Graz/Austria - 3 years old, was discarted due to high service cost ? Just carry it away.... :-)


                              Any help will be appreciated
