Canon irc4080/irc5185 error732

Dear , all

i have a canon brand new irc5180 still new with all the seals and drums i bought it without scanner ,and when i tried to assambled and turn it on it gave me error 732-001 i know its a communication problem but my question is .the Scanner of the IRC4080 different than the irc5185 ? because i installed an irc4080 scanner that;s what i have in my stock is this what made the error occur or theres somthing must do to let the scanner recognize the scanner unit ..

Check the connections between the reader controller PCB and main controller PCB. Check the power supply of the reader.


Check the scanner model and "COPIER>OPTION>BODY>SCANTYPE".
0 =should be set for Image Reader for C5180/4580/4080.
1 =should be set for Duplex Color Image Reader.


E732 0001 refers to the Reader Unit.

There are remote signals that the Main Controller PCB uses to determine the Readers presence. If that signal is missing, then 13V will not be supplied to the Reader Unit and hence E732 error.

1) Confirm that the Reader is properly connected to the main engine.
2) Check connector J1035 pin1 on the Main Controller PCB which is RMT-CONT-1. RMT-CONT-1 is the remote signal that tells the Main Controller the Reader and DADF are present. If the signal is missing, 13V is not being supplied to the Reader Controller and hence E732 0001

NOTE on the 5185 On the imageRUNNER C5185 series the Finisher, the Reader and the Pedestal / Cassette Feed Unit all communicate through the Cassette feeding Unit / Pedestal Controller to the print engine.

iRC5185, or iRC5185i, is configured with a Color Image Reader G1 AND Cassette Feed Unit Z2 it is possible a failure of one of the Cassette Feed Unit Z2 power supplies can cause an error of E732 sub code 0001 to be displayed.
This is because the Cassette Feed Unit Z2 supplies the Color Image Reader G1 with 13vdc through the lattice type quick connectors which feed through the iRC5185 / iRC5185i.


Remove the the rear cover of the Cassette Feed Unit Z2 and remove the pcb bracket holding the two small pcb's between the pedestal controller pcb and the power supply. On the upper dc converter assy check for 24vdc coming into the pcb (red wire) and 13vdc going out (orange wire), if it's missing remove the front power supply and check the connections on the inside power supply pcb (there are two, both the same part number). Check for AC coming into the power supply. If AC is present then replace the rear power supply pcb.

E732, 0001 would be displayed when powering the machine on. The machine would not come to a "Ready" state before entering this error condition.

Troubleshooting:
1) Checked connector J301 of the Interface PCB on the Reader Unit; 24v was present at pin 1 but no 13v on pin 3.
2) Observed no scanner lamp or scanner movement during power "On" sequence.
3) Checked Molex connection (J2M) at the rear of the machine.
4) Removed rear cover, inspected connections and reseated J2M. If the rear cover is not installed correctly it can prevent the proper
seating of J2M. This connector is located on the right rear side of the machine and provides power and communication to the Reader Unit.

Re-seat the ribbon cable on the Reader Controller at J203

FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE


1. Connect the Color Image Reader to this machine. (Do not connect the DDI cable).
2. Turn ON the main power switch.
3. Change the setting values of the following service mode items.
- Service mode > COPIER > Option > BODY > W/SCNR: from '0' to '1'.
- Service mode > COPIER > Option > BODY > SCANTYPE: from '1' to '0'.
Reference:
For the Color Image Reader-E1/F1, this mode has to be set to '0'.
On the other hand, it has to be set to '1' for the Duplex Color Image Reader-G1.
- Color Image Reader-E1: Platen cover model
- Duplex Color Image Reader-F1: Two-sided reversal reading type ADF model (DADF-M1)
- Duplex Color Image Reader-G1: Two-sided simultaneous reading type ADF model (DADF-T1: only for the iRC5180)
4. Turn OFF the main power switch, and connect the DDI cable.
5. Turn the main power switch ON.
Note: How to turn OFF the main power switch.
When turning off the main power switch, be sure to follow the steps below to protect the HDD inside this machine.
1. Hold down the control panel switch for 3 sec or more.
2. Following the instruction displayed on the shutdown screen, operate the control panel. (The main power switch is turned OFF automatically.)
3. If there is a need to unplug the power cord (from the wall outlet), perform step1 and 2 above before unplugging it.

thank u all , i will try what your advice tomorrow ,as i wrote in the begining of the Post its a new Copier came without Pedestal without scanner reader &without ADF ,i brought the Reader for IRC4080 and installed it and the error occurs .

Colour Image Reader-G1 (DADF/one pass duplex scanning, iR C5185i only)=Can be connected only with Color imageRUNNER C5185
model with DADF-T1 (Duplexing simultaneous reading ADF) installed.

Duplex Color Image Reader-G1:
Please install Plain Pedestal-E2 or Cassette Feeding Unit-Z2 when you install a Pedestal on the Color imageRUNNER C5185 model.
Plain Pedestal-E1 or Cassette Feeding Unit-Z1 cannot be connected.

Moreover, the Duplex Color Image Reader-G1 can be installed only on the Color imageRUNNER C5185 model.


Cassette Feeding Unit-Z2 Can only be connected with Color imageRUNNER C5185 models.

Hi, can you please tell em the name of the cable below the J2M in the picture. I need the full cables from the reader unit down to the I/F port, and the one from the reader unit to the lower main unit. My printer is the ir c2105 and showing E240, so I am trying to replece the damaged cables. Any ideas where I can get these cables would be helpful too, thank you...
