error 605 imagerunner

I installed the modem and net card by the books and I'm getting an E605 error code and instructions to turn main pwr switch on and off, which I've done 3 times with same results. This just doesn't make any sense to me. I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

hi did a seach on canon on line and the only thing I found for a e605 was a battery problem .. On a ir 330 /400 there is to be a battery board part num 0440a001aa installed.. it is for image memory.. whay IR are you working on???? hope this helps

Error E605 on the imageRUNNER 330 / 400 control panel when Installing a Super G3 Fax Board-F1

Workaround :
When installing the Super G3 Fax Board-F1, there is a battery board (Part Number: 0440A001AA) which also needs to be installed. The battery board comes with the fax board when ordered. Image Server memory utilized by the Super G3 Fax Board-F1, is backed up by this battery, and is therefore non-volatile. As a result, even when power is turned off on the main unit and boards, fax settings and documents stored in memory will remain.
Error E605 indicates a fault on the image memory battery. Turn the main power OFF and turn it back ON in about a minute. If the problem is not corrected ensure that the harness between the battery PCB and the image processor PCB is connected correctly. If the problem continues replace the battery. If the problem still continues, then replace the image processor
