ir5070 power button wont work

I have an ir5070 in the field and the power button on the control panel doesn't work (won't put it to sleep or wake it up from sleep mode). We put a new control panel on the copier and same thing. I have a local wholesaler I get used equipment from and they have 19 machines out of 20 with this same problem......any ideas?

Push button on the op panel board is bad.
solder in a new one.

Copier > option > user > sleep is set to 0, thus disabling sleep mode as well as disabling the soft power button

Sorry this is actually an ir5055, not ir5070. Does that make a difference?

Sleep set to 0 will disable the soft power switch on ALL imagerunners
