    Canon IRC1028IF

    Hi all
Has anyone had any dealings with this model or its other versions
what is the reliability like are they expensive to run
i have been offered several and am wondering if they are worth getting
for use in small offices with low volume use

    Thanks

well i have a few irc1021if running, and at least in my case they are pretty solid little machines, except for the price of the toner cartridges the clients have no complaints about them, the user interface takes a little getting used to it specially for those used to other image runners but it's ok, like you said keep them on the SOHO range, cause deep down they are only color printers with the scanner attached on top, over here they do great on small business, hardly no maintenance and decent quality. a kind of install and forget

personally hate them with a passion....

it is basically the same machine as the MF8450, most of hte parts are the same.

the toners are very slightly diffrent and you have a counter button and thats about it for the diffrence.

the ITB is supposed to last the 150,000 lifetime (it doesn't)

the fixing assembly is also supposed to last the life of the machine (it doesn't)

the machine is very slow to start up, very slow to perform even basic maintenance such as an autograd and has issues with magenta toners fairly often (something to do with it being the bottom, the door actuates the drum exposure but this has a habbit of breaking the toner catridges early).

in short there are better machines out there that fit into this slot.
