    IR 105N HDD Replaciment

The current Hdd has been failing frequently and could be recovered. Due to worries that it may fail completely, I intend to replace it with a new one altogether.
Now, my question is, Is there any way to transfer the Mailbox contents from the Old HDD into the New one? The machine is an N type model but does not have the SEND function. Please help!

    ==================================
Currently, there is no automated way to transfer the mailbox settings and mailbox contents (ie. stored documents) from one Canon device to another Canon device. You will have to manually export all of the stored documents from the first device (by printing them out or sending them to another location on the network via Universal Send), and then manually import them on the second device (by scanning them in or printing them to the mailboxes).

The following features are available on certain models (see the documentation for your specific model):

    1. Device Information Delivery (DID) - The machines that support DID can deliver the Additional Functions from one device to another device. The device's Mailbox Settings are delivered with the Additional Functions, but only mailboxes that are not password protected are delivered from the master device or are overwritten on the receiving device. Only the Mailbox Settings are delivered. The stored documents are not transferred to the receiving device.

Device Information Delivery function allows the customer with multiple imageRUNNERs to push out the settings from one device to any or all others that support this feature. One device is considered the master and can push the settings from Additional Functions, the Dept ID database, and the Address Book to all other copiers that are registered. The copier can push its settings to any copier that is registered in its database.
** This function does NOT synchronize nor append any settings to the other copiers. It will only OVERWRITE the settings already on the copier. Any settings or entries made on one of the receiving copiers will be wiped out upon an update from the master. In accordance, you must make any and all changes on the master in order for all copiers to get the correct settings.

The function uses certificates and restrictions to send out the data and requires some configuration.

    2. Backup/Restore Settings in the RUI - This feature gives the machine the ability to backup the Mailbox Settings and the contents of each mailbox (ie. the stored documents) to a shared folder on the network (via SMB). However, this backup can only be restored back onto the same device from which the backup was created. It cannot be restored to another device. This is not an import/export or transfer feature. It is only a backup/restore feature. See Related Article 55085 for more information.

Note - You cannot backup the mailboxes from the Service Support Tool.

    Backing Up and Restoring Mailboxes

With the newer devices, you can back up the mailboxes to a shared folder on a computer and then later restore them on the machine. This option backs up the mailbox name, password, and also the contents of the mailbox. Perform the following steps to set up this option:
    1. From Remote User Interface, select Additional Functions.
    2. Select Custom Settings.
    3. Select Backup/Restore Settings.
    4. Select Backup Destination Settings and enter the settings as follows:

    HOST IP ADDRESS: \\COMPUTER_NAME_OR_IP_ADDRESS\shared_folder_name.
FILE PATH: path to the folder within the share (blank if sending to root of shared folder).
USER NAME: enter a valid user name that has write privileges to the host that you are sending to.
PASSWORD: enter the valid password for the user that you have entered above.

    5. After setting up the destination settings then you can use the backup option to backup the mailboxes to your computer and then the restore option to restore it on the machine.

NOTE: It is possible to schedule mailbox backup jobs and to perform differential backups on certain models.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
