im a new member on this forum been reading on htis site for years and now i ask for help. i have a customer with the ir 1730 that in the middle of printing invoices the machine defaulted tray 1 the only tray to paper size 16k. i have checked to make sure that the machine settings are defaulted to the right settings. then i did im my idiocy a all clear, still say 16k paper. tray will not recognize any other size paper, it wont even lift the tray. set the tray to letter size insert paper close tray it lifts and displays 16k paper. i have her using the bypass tray now that works perfect recognizes every size paper. she wants to order a tray and i dont think that will solve anything. she a pay per call customer but im sure she'll lose her head if that does not fix it. thanks for any help.

hi maybe the problem is in the switches at the background of the machine or the black piece under the casette a4

Paper Size in the Cassette is Being Displayed as 16K
Try to move the paper guides to a different paper size position.
If the size does not change, replace the Size Detect PCB Unit.
The part number for the Size Detect PCB Unit is FM4-6571-000.
