    Side Paper Deck Compatibility

I have a decommissioned IR C3220 with a side paper deck. Is it possible to remove the side paper deck from the IR C3220 and install it on my IR C5180

    -----------------
    Paper Deck-P1 ==3200 is older
Paper Deck-Y1==5180 had the updated sub #parts

    the P1 & Y1 Decks are basically the same> pick-up unit has a different part #

    P1--FG6-9260-000 /PAPER PICK-UP ASSEMBLY
Y1 --FM2-7927-000 /PAPER PICK-UP ASSEMBLY had some of the updated sub #parts (as in 020's/030's)

Does the pick-up unit involve any electronic parts? Are the parts different enough to cause problems?

I have successfully (so far) installed the side paper deck. How do I change the paper size on my machine? The deck is set up for letter, which I want, but the machine says A4. How do I change that?

          \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
          service mode

          COPIER>OPTION>ACC>DK-P

Used to set paper size used by paper deck (option).
          Setting values
          0: A4 [Factory default/After RAM clear]
          1: B5
          2: LTR

To change the paper size registered on the copier for the Side Paper Deck: 1. Enter Service Mode by pressing Additional Functions, 2 and 8 simultaneously, and then Additional Functions.
          2. Select COPIER.
          3. Press the OPTION tab.
          4. Select ACC.
          5. Highlight the setting DK-P and change its value (0-2) to match your desired paper size.
          DK-P Value Paper size
          0 A4
          1 B5
          2 Letter

          6. Hit OK.

            Re: Side Paper Deck Compatibility

Thanks so much! I was able to set the paper size.

But it doesn't work anyway. I suspect the revised pickup unit is required for it to work. The paper begins feeding but the final drive roller on the deck never runs, so the paper just sits there and the printer calls an alarm. There seems to be an electric clutch on the roller that doesn't engage OR the motor stops for some reason or another.

At any rate, I am out of time for now. I may try to do some troubleshooting later. Let me know if you think there is something easy that I am overlooking.
