    IRC Advance C5035 finisher question

    Hello

One of my techs plugged a finisher that was questionable and now when we select the finishing option stapling is not available. I plugged in a good finisher and it is still not there. Is there something I need to do in service mode to get back stapling?

    Thank you

Is the machine in Limited function Mode? Go to Settings/Registration-Management Settings-Device Management and check to see if Limited Function mode is ON. If it is then turn it OFF and reboot machine and it should get stapling back.

I think I have it turned off.

I think that the copier does not see the finisher. While I have the machine turned on and the finisher plugged in I can open the finisher door and it does not see it. Could I have blown a fuse?

I just looked again and noticed that there is not a button that says limited functions off but only a button that says limited functions when security is on. When I looked at a c5051 I see both buttons. Is there somewhere else I need to look for the limited functions button?

The machine puts itself in limited functions mode if it sees a problem with an accessory. The machine still should be able to see if a door is open on the finisher though. You might have a different issue. As far as I know, the only place Limited Functions mode would be is under the device management tab under management settings. You might have to log in using 7654321 as the log-in and password if management code is turned on. If you dont see it at all then the machine is probably not put itself into that mode. Im not sure if there is a fuse that would control the accesories or not. Look in the maintenance mode of the copier and see if there are any recent errors in the error history. Sometimes these models like to throw 'hidden 'codes and they dont show up on the main screen. That might point you in a direction.

After the bad finisher was plugged in to the machine I have plugged in a good finisher and it machine is not recognizing that the finisher is there. I have moved the finisher to another machine and it works fine. Does anyone know of a fuse that I might have blown?
