    Canon ipf605 line issue

    Hi everyone,

We've recently purchased a Canon iPF605 large format printer, and have came across some issues when printing.

No matter what printer settings, or paper we use, there are clear lines visible on the printed images. The printer will primarily be used to print transparent labels, so we need to fix this issue before the labels can be printed properly.

I've attached some photos of the test prints to this post, showing the evenly spaced lines that appear across the prints. We have tried using the supplied acetate roll, and also photo glossy paper, with the same results. The people who will be regularly using the printer would rather print straight from Photoshop/Illustrator or a saved image file, but as of yet, can't due to the print quality.

If anyone has came across a similar issue before, or could provide any pointers for us, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Adam

I think you have to change printhead.

A couple of questions....define recently purchased. How long have you had it,ran it....just bought it? Does it do this regardless of the file that you print? Print head height been properly adjusted? You stated supplied acetate media...these are all shipped with a roll of plain paper. It is Canon approved media? Newest drivers installed? Newest firmware(printer OS)? Just gathering info..

        Hi Canuck,

Thanks for your reply. In answer to your questions...

        1) It was only purchased last month, and we have only been using it for the test prints, so it's practically still new.

        2) No matter what we send to the printer, the lines appear, even on the print test page.

        3) The printer was set up for us by the company it was purchased from, so we can only presume that he adjusted the print head correctly. If not, how do we know if the height is correct?

        4) We specifically asked for acetate to come with the printer, as well as the plain paper. The lines still appear on the plain paper too. Again, they were ordered through the same company so presumed they would be compatible/approved.

        5) We have tried numerous different drivers, on both Mac and Windows, and it's on the latest printer firmware.

Thanks again, hope these details can shed more light onto the matter.

Together with the printer you should have gotten also a User Manual.

You should be able to fix this just by following the manual.

Anyway you can find it here: http://www.manualowl.com/m/Canon/iPF605/Manual/39629

          Check page 453 and on.
