    IR7105 Boot Failure

This machine does not complete the Start-Up sequence. When the power switch is turned ON, the system software will start loading normally, but when the progress bar reaches the final level as in first fig, it will remain there indefinitely, i.e. it will not enter the Warm-Up/Standby cycle.

These are a few attempts I could try,
    • Unplug the RAMs,BootROM, FRAM and reseat them,
    • Swapped the RAMs and found them ok,
    • Unplugged all the connectors and replugged them on the M-CONT, DCON, SCANNER and the Power Supply unit and inspected all the wiring around them,
    • Observed that some items related to Scanner eg FEEDER were missing in the Service mode as in 2nd fig.
    • When I changed the W/SCNR from 1-0 in the <COPIER>< OPTIONS>< BODY>, the machine could boot as Printer only as in fig 3. It can accept print jobs from PC but if the setting is reversed in service mode, the previous conditions persist.
    • I loaded new firmware, yet could not improve anything.

    ?? do u have an imagePass S1 connected ??/ remove & try re-boot
    do same with Finisher----

Also try to Disconnect Fax board>then re-boot !!!!!!!!

    With No error codes

Replacement of the HDD is probably needed or u can try to Format the old one/& then re-load firmware

      • No imagePass, the bootROM is N-type,
      • I tried disconnecting all accessories, i.e Finisher and Side deck X1,
      • No Fax board is installed,
      • I tried formatting and successfully installing system software with two different HDDs,
      • No error codes whatsoever, no improvemet.

So far thank you for the suggestions, looking forward for more,
      Regards!

Bad bootROM ? Perhaps YES, but I haven't got one yet for testing

The printer does NOT overheat, it can run print jobs quite normally.

Pull out transport drawer, pull out process unit and try to boot. I have seen blade vibration motors short out and bring machine down. If status bar goes to end its not a boot problem

                Thanks!
I tried pulling the out the Feeding/Fixing Unit and Duplexing Unit then reboot - no changes.
Also tried unplugging the connector for vibration motors then reboot - nothing changes!

I could only print after disabling the SCANNER in service mode and boot as Printer only.
