Hey all,
So I have been working on an IRA C5051 that kept giving me an E001-003 error code.
Normally this indicates that the DC PCB may be faulty (or at least an issue with the thermistors).
Ordered new DC PCB, installed it, didn't fix issue,
Already has new Fixing Film assembly, so figured that it wasn't the film or thermistors, but took it apart and double checked the Main Thermistor just to be sure.
All appeared to be normal with thermistor, so re-assembled assembly, re-installed in machine, turned on and still getting error.
Took film assembly out of IRA C5255 (since they use the same one, knew it would work), installed in this machine, still getting E001-003 error code.
Took assembly apart and removed film from C5255, started looking closely to shutter assembly and noticed that 1 of the bearings for the pressure roller had come out of the race and allowed the pressure roller to fall slightly away from film assembly.
Reseated bearing, re-assembled fixing film assembly, re-installed in copier, powered up, NO MORE ERROR.
Apparently this bearing being out was causing enough temperature change in the film assembly that it was throwing the E001-003 error code (when you tried to print).
Funny thing is this is not something you would normally check for that error code.
Hoping I can save someone else some aggravation with this sometime in the future!!!
