1025if no scan to file

i have a 1025if that wont let me scan to file. when you choose address then one touch sped dial try to choose file instead of email you get a blank white screen. i tired to reflash the machine with the latest software and have gotten nowhere. spec report printout shows the PCL is off. i know flashing the PCL should turn it on but im having no luck with that. thanks for the help in advance.

When updating SSW on models with print option make sure the Boot, System & PCL are at the same version.

Check and Verify that the PCL Version is Registered on the SST and the PCL MUST be Installed on Machine to Enable Send Feature.

You must install the correct corresponding version of ssw for the print kit that is installed in the device.
Use ALL - 16M UFRII if device has UFRII print kit.

Use ALL - 32M NPK-M1 if device has PCL print kit.

Check the ROM PCB > it is used for PCL printing functionality

Verifying that the PCL Printer Kit M1 is Installed

Print out the User Data List and look at the bottom of the last page under Device Config.
The following 3 items need to show correctly:

1. OPTION ROM should show 32 MB. If it shows 16 MB, you will need to install the 32 MB ROM Board mentioned above. If you do not have a 32MB ROM Board, you will need to order the PCL Printer Kit-M1 (item code 0490B001AA).

2. OPTION should show PCL Printer Kit-M1. If it is not listed, verify the OPTION ROM shows 32 MB.

3. TOTAL MEMORY should show 256 MB for the 1023iF model and 128 MB for the 1023/1023N models (the printer kit uses the main unit's RAM).

If any of these are not displaying properly, verify that the correct board is installed and reseat all boards.

this machine does have a scan to email function but the company has some very odd outside sourced network that keeps blocking the scan to email. we get a call every couple of months that can no longer scan to emails, that is why i am trying to get it to scan to file. for the option i have the Ethernet Network Interface Adapter 1N-E11, option rom is 16mb total memory is 256mb.

you need to allow sharing in the folder properties. Select all permissions , look at all options. Under Network sharing center. Turn everything on except for password protected sharing. turn that off. Try an put scan folders in the User/ Public folder

It would still show the domain/workgroup before even doing an nmblookup.

yes i read your reply and thank you very much for all your information. i really have no idea what to do when it comes to the IT parts of these machines. i just started working with canon and i have never had to flash machines and download latest drivers. i just happened to have enough years experience that i was hired into this crazy canon world. i downloaded the system software from the canon e-support web site. i dont know if its the latest updates but why would they keep old ones posted? release date says 12/5/12. the sst im using is 4.11e. my previoous years i fixed all sorts of machines but really only mostly Minolta then the new kyocera-mita boxes. in my first 10 years i never had to flash a machine or do any updates. sorry for sounding stupid i just dont have any real IT background. your answers to my questions are great and i thank you.

There is a procedure u need to follow on this series, u also have to select the correct one, as i posted-
