    [Misc] ir advC52xx series

How long are your waste toner boxes lasting on these machines. I have a customer with 15 of these machines and the waste toner needs changing every 13-15k. Is this normal or is there a way of extending the life!! Also do you find e-maintenance (e-rds) accurate for toner bottle empty / low messages?
Would be interested on your views. Thanks

ERD-S 'Low Toner' is only a warning to ensure the cust has 1 on hand & they only need to change it when 'Waste Toner Full' message is displayed (of course machine will shut down), could possibly get another 5-10K before changing though.

Using after market Drums tends to use more toner than OEM Units also.

You can, just a bit of a pain to clean but they can be done. Just make sure you clean out that clear part that's held in with the two black plastic screws.

Us some are billable unless the sales guy didn't tell the customer they were, then I empty them. being the sole tech I don't really have that luxury to spend an afternoon a week cleaning out waste toner bottles.

it largely depends on the usage and what the customer is doing with the machine as to the life of the WTB's but they do seems to be an item that gets chewed through.

they can be cleaned out but it can be a hassle, more so if your pressed for time and its a close call as to if its worth the time and effort of doing vs buying a new one.
