Canon LBP 5360 does not recognize toner cartridge

I have to see this machine but customer is saying it is not recognizing the cartridge as if it dies not see that it is installed. Is it the cartridge itself at fault? I thought I would put this out there in case I find it to be other than cartridge. The machine is outdated and Canon does not support this machine. I don't have any documentation on this machine other than videos showing how it all comes apart.

The error was 16 cmyk set err could have been 16 mcyb err not sure which now.

    Resolved:
I found that the lock mechanism on the right side that opens and closes the drum shutters is broken. You could close the front door gently and watch the drum shutter covers open up til it reaches the yellow and black unit then all of them would go shut again. The part number RC1-6643 is the culprit.
Testing it out: I took all drums out and closed the cover. It said 14 no cmyk drums or something similar. I then put the magenta in and closed the lid. It said no cyb drum, so it recognized the magenta. I then did the same thing with the cyan drum leaving the magenta in place, it then said 14 no YB drums. As soon as you try this again with either yellow or black it would then say 14 no MCYK drums. The part that broke prevents the lever which activates the open and close shutters on the drum units, right side of the machine, from going beyond its throw and keeps it in the track or slot it needs to be in. When you open and close the front door these get activated engaged or disengaged.
