toner was change with oem gpr-6 and copies where fine before change of toner, i have a service manual and before i go and do some changes that i will regret is the toner bad or a drum issue, copy count is 155000. I don't work on canons much but it looks like i need to vacum the toner out and try another one. i have a sample attached.

Re: Canon ir 2200 dark copies
How many copies on the drum? Good for between 50K and 80K. Sure looks like a toner dusting issue to me. Check the seals on the developing unit, vac out, clean the slit glass and inspect to make sure that toner is not in the laser unit. -
Re: Canon ir 2200 dark copies
100% right, the drum have way more than that or the toner really damaged it, black lines on top and small on bottom and the white line on the middle says charge roller as well, or maybe spacersa on the mag roller are quite old, shade issues point on developing and not drum, so both. sorry for that.Comment

Re: Canon ir 2200 dark copies
Replaced drum unit, vacuum out old toner and not one change. Can go in the adjust mode in service manual and change the value of DE-offset
and the copies improve 100% but after about 15 copies it throws the old 064-0000 code which is charge, transfer, or dv bias problem. With that said i don't know what else to do because have no other boards or parts to swap out now, and don't think it is the dv unit itself but i don't have one to try.Comment

Re: Canon ir 2200 dark copies
I would like to see a compare to printing. Looks like toner on wires around reader controller can make this background but less severe on 4570. For sure go back to door specs. Good you tried another drum. Developer ??? machine may have taken a bad surge. I have seen surges kill this model. Hard to bring back on the one i tried and yes I had a parts machine.Comment
