I have a mortgage company that scans legal size documents and when they pull it up on there computer they have to rotate the image, it scans landscape and they want it to scan portrait ..on a toshiba you can change the direction right on the operation panel and keep the settings. for the life of me i cant find it on this canon...any help appreciated

service mode > feeder > function > ltr,ltrr,a4 and a5 adjustments. Put the sliding guide at the appropriate paper size and select them. Should say ok. Do all 4 and test. Does it do in on LGL to LGL copies as well? -

It registers the paper fine, its when you scan not copy, when you scan a legal size document to pdf it scans it landscape instead of portrait, she has to rotate it on her computer screen to make changes then if she emails it . it sends it the same way landscape...only on legal not on letterComment

'Long Strip Original' Feature and Sending Letter-R, Legal, and Tabloid Originals
The Long Strip Original option will only be visible in the Special Features tab of the Copy screen when the following service mode is executed:
In Service Mode Level-2:
COPIER > OPTION > USER > MF-LG-ST
Sets long length mode key.
0: Normal setting
1: Display long length key in mode screen
Default factory is set to 0
Once the MF-LG-ST is set to "1", the Long Strip Original option will be available in the Special Features tab of the Copy screen.

When I scan Letter-R, Legal, or Tabloid (11x17) size originals through the feeder for a Universal Send push scan job (scan to email, scan to FTP, scan to SMB, etc), the file that is sent comes across in landscape orientation. 
The original is loaded in the feeder using the following orientation:

I have to rotate the image 90 degrees in my application to switch it to portrait orientation.
Is there a way to automatically rotate these Letter-R, Legal, or Tabloid (11x17) scan jobs during the scanning process at the copier?
Solution :
There is an option called 'Long Strip Original' that will automatically rotate the scanned originals during the scanning process when push scanning via Universal Send. To enable the 'Long Strip Original' option, follow these steps:
1. On the copier control panel, select the Send tab.
2. Pull down the 'Scan Settings' drop down menu and select 'Option'.
3. Press the 'Document Size Select' button on the resulting Scan Settings screen.
4. Press the 'Long Strip Original' button. The size will automatically switch to 'Auto'. The feature is enabled when the option is highlighted in blue.
5. Press 'Done'.
6. Press 'OK'.
7. Select your destination and send the job by pressing the Start key.
8. The resulting image will be automatically rotated.
* Note - Be sure to load your originals with the bottom short edge going into the feeder (see below). If you load your originals the other way, the resulting image will be portrait but upside down.
Correct loading orientation:
* There is no 'Long Strip Original' sensor to detect long paper on the iR105+/105/9070/8500, but there is on the iR8070/7200. Unfortunately, there are no plans to add this function to the iR105+/105/9070/8500.
* Duplexing (scanning 2-sided originals) is not supported when using the 'Long Strip Original' option.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
