hi all...I have a irac2225 that throws error e000749-006..just before code comes up it says on screen storing system information??...can still scan but cannot copy...have loaded all firmware ...??

E749 0006 00 Restart direction due to configuration change.

The option such as the Finisher and ADF was installed or removed when all of following conditions were met and the machine configuration is changed when the main power switch is turned ON.
- Settings/Registration > Preferences > Timer/Energy Settings
> Quick Start-up at Power-on > ON
- The Main Power Switch is turned OFF
- The power plug of the machine is connected to the output

Remedy = It is recovered by turning OFF and then ON the main power.
CAUTION
This machine provides power to some PCBs even when in the main power OFF status.
The power supply is not completely OFF by just turning OFF the main power switch and therefore, the machine is unable to
detect a configuration change.
When disconnecting and then connecting a connector, always disconnect the power plug.
Refer to the Service Manual > Chapter 2 > External and Controls > Quick Start-up for details.

In addition, quick start-up is not performed under the following conditions.
At first start-up after the AC Power Plug is connected to the outlet
Under the following conditions (settings), the machine always starts up normally (even quick start-up is ON).

When any of the following devices is connected.When any of the following network settings is set to "ON".FAXMEAP
During execution of MEAP application which prohibits moving to Deep Sleep
A scheduled processing is reserved on MEAP.

machine has been in use for 6 months at customers and no new add ons fitted..i am waiting on reply from canon at moment...can log in through rui...but error still occurs when copy screen on ....can still scan...

How did this Canon tech diagnose it down to an AC driver issue\
was there a testing procedure to eliminate items ?

Only had 1 reported case with same sub code (apparently)....i have done box check on machine everything coming back ok....i thought main cont 1..but phoned canon for advise and that was answer..ac driver has been ordered so will fit when comes in..

I had this happen once on a brand new C2225.

Called Canon, they told me to set the power saver usage to high instead of low. I cleared error in service and flashed the F/W with USB key.

Problem solved.

I think there was some weird problem with the firmware where the low power sleep didn't fire a remote signal to the reader controller when it came back, but instead of displaying a reader controller error, it gives you the config error.

Thanks to all for replying to post....ac driver pcb changed today and cured err..whilst on site changed power saving from low to high....thanks again
