Moves up and there is a gray Ilin on a copy when it is copied from the DADF.

If its only when you use the adf there's something on that glass even if its a small spot

Check the white roller on the underside of the ADF whilst you are doing that as well.

Take the small glass out and get a good look at it. I've had them get scratched. Its the only path used for adf copying and scanning. I assume all optics are clean
