C2020i drum unit replacement every 10.000 copies

Hi everyone,


I have a Canon Imagerunner C2020i color copier in my company.
We usually print images %80-100 covered pages. The texts and pictures on the paper repeat itself in a washed out Ghost image occurs with both texts and images on the paper, approximately in every 10.000 copy.. When technical service came to check the issue they change drum unit. I couldn't find a proper developer to fill the drum unit by myself in my country for this printer. Is it possible to use other models' developer?

Dude if you can do that let me know, I am still experimenting rebuilding the OPC and cleaning side of the drum at the moment, with varied success I might add
But I would not attempt this for a field machine I only do this because I enjoy taking things apart and seeing how they work for my own knowledge You will get very inconsistent image quality issues and probably a shed load of 020 error messages, I dont think it is worth the hassle, I dont think much of the IRA 2000 series machines, especially the drums, but better the devil you know

who told u > u can print 80%>100% coverage with this printer and not have issues ?

Finally I solved the problem. I replaced a new "drum cleaning blade" (you can see it next to the opc in drum unit. It looks like a brush) and no more ghost images. No more drum unit replacement

You can find it at alibaba.com. Search "c2020 blade" or "c2020 cleaning blade" I couldn't find dealers page right now.
