[Error Code] Canon IRC Advance 5035

Hey guys, got a few problems with this machine.

    1) Throwing a code for the Magenta developer E020-0291

    2) Can't figure out how to open the bloody toner compartment! Does anyone know how to open the compartments in service mode? Can't find it in the manual.

-The machine has 325k copies on it with absolutely no service performed previously (hooray!)

-The customers have been using generic toner for the life of the machine

-The density of the developer - toner ratio is way off according to the ATR
    SNGL-Y 572
    SNGL-M 513
    SNGL-C 568
    SNGL-K 563

Appropriate target value 20 to 230
So the density is way off.

The big question being: is it time for them to change the developer and stop using generic? Or is there a simpler solution?
How the heck do you open the toner compartment?

    Much appreciated!

There's a tool mounted on the rear of the machine behind the main con that allows you to turn the toner assy by hand in order to release the toner bottle. 4-120ish of the SM

        Hi again,
The above info is not complete: COPIER>OPTION>DSPLY-SW>T-CRG-SW (Toner Container replacement mode). Then , you can do in the user mode.

Thanks for posting the whole thing. I have the service manual so I found that page and initialized the sequence in SM.

Interested in knowing how you are going to cure this mess! The generic toner cant be a good thing in this machine.

if the transfer voltage is a little high and all other look good. Replace the HVT 1 . Not sure if developers will behave but if ITB is coated with magenta that is another clue to go with this solution.

To my knowledge there is NO developer change available for these Units & if the machine has done 325K without a service as stated then it probably requires Drum/Blade or the Drum Unit replacement/s anyway - then perform an AUTO GRAD.

Also why would you NEED to open the Toner Compartment in the first place.

I will be returning to this machine in the next few days. What's the best method to clean the ATR sensors?
