    What steps have you taken?
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

      Hi,
I inserted the DVD1 disc in the DVD player and restarted the system.

Is it the software that came with the unit or something you've downloaded and burnt to a DVD?

          Hi,

it's the original disc that came with the controler;i've done it twice last year without any problem but i wonder why it doesn't boot from the dvd drive at start up; so, i just want to check the default boot setting in the Bios mode.

Id say dirty lens on the optical drive then.

              Hi,
i finally discovered that the internal dvd drive happened to read cd disc but not dvd disc.
However, with an external dvd drive, i succeded to have the server boot from the system dvd disc;installation goes fine until i got this error message(see photo attached).
i've retried a few times the installation operation ,after cleaning the dvd disc, and with also 2 copies that i've burned from the original disc but the same error message at exactly the same point of installation keeps popping up.

so, i would greatly appreciate if anybody could help me to get a good copy of the dvd1 system software(see photo)or else an iso image of the dvd1 or much better a clone image of the Fiery server A3200 .

may be this could help me to get the server back to road again.

ps:i've ordered the media pack from Canon but i think, the delivery to my island will take some time.

              So, any help is welcome.

                  Hi teckat,

                  thanks for responding to my issue;

Yes,i made sure that no usb devices (except the mouse and the keyboard)were pesent upon installation.

Re cmos clearing, i was wondering whether it could be useful. At this point, there is nothing to lose to give it a try.

                  However, i am suspecting a harddisk issue....may be some defective sectors in one of the 3 hdds of the A3200 SERVER;
Could you tell me on which drive is installed the fiery system and the XPe. i think the drives D and E are connected in Raid 0.

Probably, i will take the server back to our workshop to be more comfotable to look into that issue.
Is it possible to install the system software without it bieng connected to the imagepress 6010Vp?anyway, i'll give it a try.

                  i'll post my findings later.

                    Re: Fiery controller A3200

                    • HDD1 is the 250GB HDD installed in the top slot of the chassis. HDD1 is partitioned
into drive letters c:\ and d:\.

                    • HDD2 is the 500GB HDD installed in the middle slot of the chassis.
                    • HDD3 is the 500GB HDD installed in the bottom slot of the chassis.

HDD2 and HDD3 are configured together as a single RAID drive, represented by drive letter e:\.

                    • Connect HDD1 (the HDD in the top slot) to SATA1 on the motherboard.
                    • Connect HDD2 (the HDD in the middle slot) to SATA2 on the motherboard.
                    • Connect HDD3 (the HDD in the bottom slot) to SATA3 on the motherboard.

U probably have this info already

To troubleshoot the HDDs, connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the imagePRESS Server.

                    Reboot the system.
At the Serial ATA AHCI BIOS screen on the monitor, wait for the Port-XX displays to appear and press the Pause/Break key.
If a HDD description appears next to the Port-01, Port-02, and Port-03 entries, all three HDDs are good.
If “No device detected” appears next to:
                    – Port-01, the 250GB HDD in the top slot of the chassis may be faulty.
                    – Port-02, the 500GB HDD in the middle slot may be faulty.
                    – Port-03, the 500GB HDD in the bottom slot may be faulty.
Replace the SATA data cable to the suspected faulty drive. If the problem persists, replace the faulty drive.

                      Hi teckat,

Thanks again for responding so fast;To be frank with you,i was not aware about the hdd troubleshooting procedure and i was wrong about the drive letters;Things are a bit clearer now with these useful infos.
I will give it a try tomorrow morning and post my findings later. However ,i am thinking of replacing all the 3 hdds at the same time for peace of mind.

                      Take care

                        Updates
                        Hi,

Finally i've succeeded to reinstall the system software.

Basically, i've changed the internal dvd drive , a data cable for HDD1 which was found broken on the hdd connection side and used a burnt copy of the original dvd1 system software disc..
I then made a clone copy of the server after installing all the patches and configuring the server settings.

However , to play it safe,i put 3 new Hdds in place of the originals hdds(which i keep securely in case of)and put back the clone image .

Thanks to all for your support.
