Went to customer's office and black toner hopper motor asm. is not turning normally as though there is resistance and making grinding sound. Took out assembly and did not notice broken gear while manually turning though. Also unable to access toner cartridge release as machine is in error mode. Checked service mode sequences for toner release but did not see it. Your help is greatly appreciate. I have only done a couple of calls on this. Last call was cyan developer unit had broken coupler. I hope you replaced all 4 couplers. The one next to my broken yellow was loose and about to fail too. I didn't replace the machine side part. I do not have tiny hands and its not easy like the tech pub says either!

The developer coupler problem was in december. It has been okay since changing. This most recent error is a toner hopper drive error.How can I remove the black toner while in error mode. Don't want to put new drive unit in until i have checked out toner cartridge . Frank

Hi Godying + Alex 1. A customer of mine called this morning with an error 25-0410 after just having changed 2 toners. I am assuming it is same problem you guys had with toner hopper drive set. Did you order whole set
which i see in manual as FM3-5979 or just gear FU8-0137 Motor appears to be FK2-7895 unless new part #s. Also is it possible to crazy glue gear temporarily until part(s) come in.

I assume it is also good idea to check toners installed to check for authentic OEM or see if problem on cartridge. Your help and advisce i appreciated.

Hi Frank,

the customer had forced a non Genuine Black toner inside the machine which had led to damaging the hopper motor. That gets replaced from the back of the machine which also requires stripping down from the front of the machine it's a hell of a job.

To answer your question Frank, consult the manual and find the " tool " in the back of the machine. You put this on the drive and that will possibly open the toner door AND allow you to remove toner while in error mode.

Thanks Allen. Hopefully I will find "the tool" and that what you said is enough of a clue for me. I do have the SM as well as the PC which was how I was able to solve the e27-300 + e2003b1 dev coupler codes on cyan unit in December.

Thank you all for info and help. On Saturday Feb 28 I changed black toner drive set. Old one had gear broken where pin is seated. Also checked black toner which was OEM and new but when I shook it nothing was moving as though very caked or solid. I took another new one and shook it and easily felt the toner moving back and forth inside. Put note on defective toner and told customer not to use and to return for credit.Frank

Hello I have a problem with a c5045 with a e000025-02c0 magenta not adding, looking to replace holder assembly tried drive assembly, tried the easy thing first. Any suggestions

E025-02C0 is an error where the machine does not see the toner door open or close when replacing the toner.


CANON

E025-02C0 error code came up after the customer replaced the magenta toner bottle. The tech removed the bottle and inspected the hopper and all looked ok. He cleared the error in service mode and rebooted the machine but the error returned.
Had tech check PS14 Toner Container Inner Cover Sensor in I/O P024 Bit 9 and it would not change states.
The tech then swapped the sensor with the cyan hopper and the error code changed to E025-03C0.

E025-02C0 is an error where the machine does not see the toner door open or close when replacing the toner.


In this case replacing the PS14 Toner Container Inner Cover Sensor (WG8-5783-000) resolved the issue.

E025-02C0 Error Code

Error Code comes up at start up and will not clear. Tech tried swapping the magenta toner door sensor with another color with no change in the sub-code. In this case, the wire tie at the magenta toner door sensor harness was clipped off and the error code cleared.
