    IRC5185 questions

    Hi!

I have just brought used Canon irc5185i with W2 finisher. I have folowing questions:

-First question: When machine is printing, air is blowing from the paper output hole (picture). Is this normal? I'm little worried about this, because machine is old and has lot of impressions so i'm little affraid that toner particles from inside of the machine will blow in the enviroment (very small shop).

-Second question: Is it possible to set the machine to print batch of 1000 sheets of paper with offseting every 50 sheets or set the machine to print to trays A and B each 50 sheets.

-Third question: When printing pdf file or word file text is a little bit blurry and bold. I have tried PCL, PS, UFR2 drivers, without success. Photocopying is ok.

    Thank you for help.

3 ?--PDF's -----------do u have an external imagePass H1 Fiery Box CONNECTED

        u have an "i" model

        *
'Trace & Smooth' PDF mode enables users to convert the text of a scanned image to scalable outline data (vector graphics). The outline data is less jagged at the edge and the extracted outline data can be used in Adobe Illustrator (note that actual results may vary).
        * This mode is available only if the optional Universal Send PDF Advanced Feature Set (standard-equipped for the supported Color imageRUNNER 'i' models) is activated.

        - If users select [Trace & Smooth] as the PDF file format, [Compact] is automatically set to 'On'.
        - If users select [Trace & Smooth], [PDF (Trace)] is displayed as the file format on the Send Basic Features screen.
        - Users can also set [OCR (Text Searchable)] along with [Trace & Smooth].
        - Users can also combine [Encrypt] mode and [Add Digital Signatures] mode ultimately creating a document that is secure, signed, searchable and compressed.

Users cannot send a Trace & Smooth PDF in any of the following cases:
        - If the document is scanned in the Black-and-White mode.
        - If the document is scanned in the Full Color/Grayscale (Automatic Color Selection) mode, and the resolution is set to other than 300 dpi.
        - If the document is scanned in the Long Strip Original (17" (432 mm) or more).

        Notes:
        - Trace & Smooth PDF is a functionality of PDF High Compression.
        - Users can combine Trace & Smooth PDF functionality along with Searchable PDF, Encrypted PDF, and Digital Signature Mode.
        - Users cannot Send a Trace & Smooth PDF under the following circumstances: If the file is scanned in B/W mode or if the document is scanned in the long strip original (17" or more).
        - Trace & Smooth mode may change look of font when enlarged or zoomed.

        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The way a PDF will print is often determined when the PDF is created. For example, a PDF file can be created by printing using the Adobe PDF Writer driver. Before creating a PDF in this manner, be sure to enter the Adobe PDF Writer driver's properties to check its settings.
When creating a PDF, there are many options to choose from for the Adobe PDF Conversion Settings.
        fiery.JPG
Please make sure to choose the option that best suits your needs. Standard is the default setting, which may not provide the best colors for printing. Standard, as explained below, is for viewing and printing business documents and not for higher end graphics files.
        fiery.JPG

Standard - Use these settings to create PDF documents suitable for reliable viewing and printing of business documents. The PDF documents can be opened with Acrobat and Reader 5.0 and later.
High Quality - Use these settings to create PDF documents with higher image resolution for improved printing quality. The PDF documents can be opened with Acrobat and Reader 5.0 and later.
Press Quality - Use these settings to create PDF documents with higher image resolution for high quality pre-press printing. The PDF documents can be opened with Acrobat and Reader 5.0 and later. These settings require font embedding.
        FieryOptimized - Acrobat 3.0 (PDF 1.2)
        FieryOptimized2 - Acrobat 4.0 (PDF 1.3)
For best results on Fiery products, choose Fiery Optimized or FieryOptimized2 as shown below.
        fiery.JPG

NOTE: Some fonts cannot be downloaded to a printer, either because the font is a bitmap or because embedding of the font is restricted in that document. In these cases, a substitute font is used for printing, and the printed output may not match the screen display exactly. Ask the creator of the PDF document to send you a version of the PDF document with appropriately embedded fonts.
