E246===
1. A normal soft counter reading cannot be written to the counter memory.
2. Counter Memory PCB not being recognized on power up.
To try and resolve the issue first verify all connectors to the MN-CON PCB and the Counter PCB are seated correctly. If the connectors are secure perform an MN-CON clear in service mode:
- *28*>Copier>Function>Clear>MN-CON
Performing this item initializes all the data on the SRAM board. In other words, file
management information for the hard disk is initialized, and image data on the hard disk can no
longer be read. Before performing this item, explain to the user that all images in the BOX will
be lost, and receive permission to perform.
Operation method
1) Select COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P > P-PRINT to print out the service mode setting
values.
2) Select this item, then press the OK key.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is illegal to tamper with this circuit in an attempt to falsify the counter readings of any Canon Copier.
DO NOT CHANGE TWO OR MORE BOARDS AT ANY ONE TIME. THIS CAN RESULT IN THE
EQUIPMENT ENTERING AN ERROR CODE LOOP. ONCE THIS OCCURS, YOU MUST CONTACT THE
CANON TECHNICAL SUPPORT CENTER FOR ASSISTANCE.
The Counter Memory PCB, ECO ID PCB and SRAM PCB retain information pertinent to the specific engine they are installed in. Ensure that you never swap any of these circuit boards with another engine.
If any of these circuit boards are swapped, it can result negatively in equipment performance.
1. Re-install original Counter Memory PCB that belongs to that equipment.
2. Replace Counter Memory PCB with new one.== FG6-9667-000
Counter Memory PCB is now available for purchase.
The ECO ID PCB continues to be restricted. The ECO ID PCB can only be obtained by contacting the Canon Technical Support Center

Product : All imageRUNNER-iR Series
Title : E355 Error Code
You've replaced the Main-Controller board and now are getting an E355 error code on he imageRUNNER-iR LCD.
The E355 error code is due to no communication between the Main-Controller board and the Serial Number board below it. The boards are connected by a 11 PIN yellow connector and cable. This yellow connector must be reseated on the new Main-Controller board when changed. The connector must be seated firmly on the board.
Workaround : When this error occurs, you must go into Service Mode and clear the error code.
How to clear the error code: 1. Enter Service Mode: Press * Additional Functions, 2&8 simultaneously, then * Additional Functions
2. Then select the [COPIER] option. Under [COPIER], select the Function tab. 3. Under the [FUNCTION] tab, select the [CLEAR] option. 4. In [CLEAR] there is a selection E355-CLR. Select it and hit OK. 5. Reboot the machine.
If the error occurs again: 1. Make sure the connection is secure and tight to the Main-Controller board from the connector cable to the Serial Number board below. 2. Reseat the Main-Controller board into its slot. 3. Go into service mode and clear the error code as explained above.
* If the error still continues, you probably have a bad Serial Number board and it needs to be replaced.

NO>NO>NO > that is not a serial #pcb/ ECO PCB is also called the Serial #Pcb.
The ECO ID PCB continues to be restricted. The ECO ID PCB (Serial Number Pcb) can only be obtained by contacting the Canon Technical Support CenterE355= Mismatch of serial numbers of three items: ECO ID PCB, Main Controller PCB (SRAM) and Counter Memory PCB. 1. Put back all original PCBs into the equipment!2. Do not utilize a used Counter Memory PCB or ECO ID PCB from any other equipment.
3. Ensure connector J1213 is connected.
