    Hello ,

when i started work with Canon ,when i was in a training i learned how to make Scan from for ex: ir8500 to another ir 8500 machine .

i mean i have an ir 8500 no.1 i put the papers on the ADF and the IR8500 no.2 strat to copy ,i used the scan of the machine no 1 and machine no 1 prints,
actually i forget what;s the key or option to do that can anyone remember and tell me .

I could do that on Ricoh but never tried on Canon. I would scan to ftp (a pdf) into a folder for print direct (driverless print pdf) and second machine would print.
I thought it was neat. example...a hospital scans a prescription and the pharmacy gets print out (they love printing).
I also thought is would be neat because b/w machines scan in colour so you could scan colour originals to print on colour capable machine.

Wow! That really goes back a loooooong way!

The function you are referring to is called "Remote Copy" in Canon world.

Do I get extra points for that?

I don't remember if it was standard, or if it was even available on the iR8500.

You may find the best info on it in an 8500 operator's manual (good luck on which one), NOT the service manual.
