I have a iR5055 that will not boot. I can boot into Download Mode and format the HD and download software but when i reboot i just get a blue bar that gets about 1/10th full and stops. Any ideas???
I have reseated all the connections on the dc and main controller. I have swapped memory, Flashed the boot rom and tried to update all software (I can download all the software to the HD but it never gets far enough in the boot to install it).
next thought-have you tried different hdd?
can you swap boot rom?
starting to think main controller...
if you unseat board(s) from main controller do you get eXXX? before time out on power up?
if it wont take a flash i.e. service support tool times out before a piece of software loads. look at replacing the main controler, thats a comunication problem if the info cant get through the main cont. then the info cant get to the hdd.
sounds stupid i know but check your cables first, to the reader controller on back of machine. I have had that get me every time. you say you swapped memory, but from what to what? It makes a difference.
I did swap reader cables from another machine and i'll have to check which machine i swapped the memory from. Today i am going to change the HD and see if that works.
SST never times out it works just fine downloading all the software, i did a full batch download with no errors. But the only software it actually installs is the boot rom.
I dont have another boot rom to swap but i was able to flash that with no problem.
Replaced the HD with the same result, also i'm not sure if this would make any difference but the machine warms up completely and sounds like it gets completely ready to copy.
Way out there, but last time I had something like that, I noticed Alarm-2 said a door was open (but it wasn't). Ended up clearing D-con and entering door specs. Worked for me.
P.S. Later I ended up having to replace the DC Controler.
