ir 3025 no lift tray 2

i have a 3025 that tray 2 wont lift legal paper. it makes a grinding noise for a few seconds then stops and says load legal paper. if you turn the blue dial for any other paper size it lifts the paper fine, turn it back to legal, short grinding noise then nothing. i changed the paper feed deck hoping to fix the issue, but having the same problem. thanks in advanced. the tray itself is fine when messing around by hand no binding or anything broken.

something with the tray, if you've already done the feed assembly then that's all that's left. I'm assuming paper size detection is working fine?

if this tray has issues with only Legal Paper/

u need to look at Paper Size Detection PCB/Cassette lifter motor

make sure all plastic covers are flush (cause tray not to sit in proper)

yes the machine does detect the correct paper size everytime you turn the blue wheel. it just wont lift for legal size.

even if the control panel reads LEGAL> there must be an issue with Cassette size detection PCB> SW4 determines the read sequence for

LEGAL SIZE
SW0=OFF
SW1=ON
SW2=ON
SW3=ON
SW4=ON
if for some weird reason size detection PCB>can't determine paper size> lifter will not move up> With or without paper in tray

-can't explain why Panel sees LEGAL & Lift does not take place

changed the cassette size detection pcb today and nothing happened. same problem exists now it wont lift any paper at all, no matter what the size. still asks for paper to be put in the tray.

yesterday i put in a new tray and that did not change anything, is there a board that i can change now that might be bad? ive replaced all the mechanical items now its got to be down to the boards im guessing.

changed the cassette size detection pcb today and nothing happened. same problem exists now it wont lift any paper at all, no matter what the size.

is this situation still present ?? > before u replaced cassette size detection pcb u had only one PAPER SIZE ISSUE issue > but know it effects ALL SIZES
if that's still the case u have a communication/connection/or wiring issue

REPLACE
cassette size detection relay PCB>>>>relays data for cassette size

(This part is different from cassette 2 size detection PCB=detects the size of cassette 2)
