    ir3300 stopped printing.

    HI!

I am working with an ir3300, and have a printing problem. Let me lay out all the details:

    1) The remote UI works fine, I can browse to it and use it.
    2) I can ping the printer
    3) I have a static IP for the printer (192.168.1.249)
    4) When I run the driver setup, and it looks for printers, it finds nothing.
    5) I tried creating my own TCP port on 192.168.1.249, and installed the driver, but still no print.

It was working fine a week ago, but just stopped one day and I can't get it to go again. It still copies fine.

In the print log, it shows the test page was submitted, it also shows NG and 09.

Is there a way to do a factory reset of all settings, so I can start fresh?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Bret.

      If it helps:

#009 Cause : Either there is no paper, or the paper drawer is not correctly set.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

Have not yet tried laptop and crossover I will try that at next opportunity.

        Yes, the RUI works fine.

Also have not tried parallel yet. I'll try that when I try crossover and laptop.

Could you elaborate on MMI? Is that software I can get / download, a key combo, maybe?

        I'll double-check the paper drawer.

            How do I ....

.... activate the service mode function? I know that may sound like a stupid question, but I've not worked with Canon equipment before, please excuse my ignorance.

I checked for IP conflicts - none found.

here is a possible solution remove the network setting settings from the machine save settings turn off machine wait at least 30 sec on turn it back on put back in settings and then reboot machine and try again.

By the way make sure your network cable is good making sure the cable is not broken on one of the pins.

The reason you can't browse for it using the setup is because you have to open the folder that says misc in the driver folder and run dias or check dias when it shows on the driver as you are installing. that is a driver assist program. Oh dont forget antivirus programs will stop it from working too. turn it off and retry. The antivirus program that is. of course reboot the machine, and if on a server, reboot it. that should tell you where the problem is. Like the previous post hook up directly and test it that way. if it works then work backwards.

I just had a call today that one of my customers machine was not working Ir4570 on the network it was fine yesterday and today it was not printing, I checked everything and all was good, I can ping the machine and I can browse the using the RUI, the problem I found was my ethernet cable got broken someway in the RJ45 jack and I had to replace it and all was fine then.

This could very be a simple problem for you, make sure and check the things that may not be the obvious.

Remember there are wires in the Cat5e Cable that sends and receive data please check cables. (Ethernet)

oh you know what? i remember now that you brought it up. the jacks that are on the copier pcb's are crap. they have been not making connection with the cables properly. they just dont fit right to the plug. we have had a few now. It's probably really not your cable. The connector on the pcb is soldered fine, its just the way the two fit together. you can hold the RJ-45 and push it to one side or the other and will work, or try new cable like you did.
