There's a black guide that comes out of place and will bind the paper coming out of the tray. You can verify when you open the left door, then the door above the registraiton assembly, when it closes it pushes against the black "guide" I see this pop off quite a bit on what little of these units I have left.

That's normal,, that's the sep roller. Paper is catching on something. So check even pressure on the white "retard" rollers and make sure they align properly and not more front to back. I would try teckat's suggestion and change the tires with a new set. There's also 2 d shape rollers that can wear down and cause this issue. There's place for 4 (And I do install all 4 instead of the 2 that comes with the machine)

It's something to do with pickup to registration. We can only stab in the dark without being in front of the machine so much.

Yes, check for BURS as suggested by teckat; the best way to do this would be to remove out the fixing unit from the machine, this will also enable you to check the unit's cleaning rod if its over coated with thick melted toner.... , you may need to scrap the coating using a sharp object or, replace the rod, which ever is easier for you.
